NEW YORK (Reuters) - U.S. state and local government tax revenues rose to $317 billion in the first quarter of 2016, a gain of 3.1 percent versus the same period a year ago according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau published on Tuesday.

Property taxes collected grew 5.6 percent to $125.7 bln from $119 billion in the same period a year ago.
