Guess what Viagra might be used for next? Reducing cellulite!
Scientists in Croatia have proposed that the drug sildenafil — famous for helping men with erectile dysfunction achieve erection — could be an effective ingredient in anti-cellulite cream.
Viagra is thought to have two qualities that may help reduce cellulite: It breaks down fat (at least in test tubes) and it boosts blood flow. So Karmela Altabas and colleagues from the Sisters of Charity University Hospital in Zagreb believe that a moisturizer containing the drug could dissolve cellulite and then whisk it away.
Altabas hopes a pharmaceutical company will take up this idea and test it.
