Well, this is embarrassing. A television anchor from Oakland's KTVU was tricked into reading a bogus list of names of the four pilots from Asiana Flight 214 crash on-air. Not only are the names fake, but they are clearly racist and offensive.
Some of the fake names include "Sum Ting Wong" and "Ho Lee Fuk." It is surprising that the news anchor or television crew did not pick up on the phony names when they were typing them on the teleprompter.
The NTSB is blaming it on a summer intern for releasing false information. They issued a press release saying, "A summer intern acted outside the scope of his authority when he erroneously confirmed the names of the flight crew on the aircraft." You can read NTSB's full statement here.
