Wanted man believed to be in Calgary area

Vancouver, Calgary police are on the lookout for a man wanted on two Canada-wide warrants.

Calgary police are on the lookout for a man wanted on two Canada-wide warrants.

Marcellus Norman Jacob, 28, is wanted for failing to abide by his release conditions and for failing to comply with the conditions of his recognizance order.

Police say Jacob has a violent sexual criminal history and was released after an eight-year sentence into the Vancouver area on Jan. 14, 2009, on statutory release. Jacob served his sentence for break and enter and sexual assault with a weapon.

On March 30, Jacob was sentenced to a two-year recognizance order. But on April 7, he failed to report as required.

Vancouver police say Jacob has a long history of both violent
and property crimes and he is considered a high risk to re-offend. His
most recent sentence was for break and enter and the sexual assault of
a woman not known to him.

Jacob is an Aboriginal male, about 5’ 5” tall and weighs about 170 lbs. He has brown eyes and black hair.

Jacob has a tattoo on his right ankle with the initials “CJ.”

Police believe he may be in the Calgary area.

Anyone with information on Jacob’s whereabouts is asked to call Calgary police at 403-266-1234 or 911.
