Wednesday Tip: Dear blister, oh, how you are annoying

Once you’re into your walking program you may find that you develop a blister. For the most part, blisters are an annoyance, but at times like during a week of walking, they can be downright painful. It’s best to treat them properly to avoid further problems.

When your feet begin to sweat, skin can tear and form blisters. Keeping feet dry by applying antiperspirant directly on the foot or corn starch in your socks can help. Alternatively, you can purchase socks made from a
wicking fabric instead of cotton to keep moisture away from your skin. If you walk with a small bag, throw a blister kit in it, just to be safe.
