In the above video, a 12-year-old boy named Jeremy stands up to a police officer.
Jeremy approaches a Las Vegas Metro cop who had illegally parked his motorcycle on the sidewalk. From what it appears in the video, it seems the police officer stopped for a soda, or an iced coffee.
Jeremy approaches the police officer and asks if there was an emergency and that is why he illegally parked his motorcycle on the sidewalk. He then asks the cop for his badge number.
The cop refuses to answer both questions and asks the young man if he is a lawyer.
Jeremy reminds him he is a minor and asks for the badge number once again.
When the cop asks, “Why?” Jeremy may not have passed the bar exam yet but knows his rights.
“Because I have a right to,” he replies. “I don’t think it’s necessary to park your motorized vehicle on the sidewalk.”
Jeremy politely asks again for the badge number, but the cop refuses again and drives off.
The video was posted on Reddit and has garnered a strong reaction from the public. Since a badger number was never given, Reddit users are working to identify the police officer in the video.
