Scott Jones and Alexandra Thomas: Vancouver riots kissing couple identified!

When we first saw the iconic Vancouver kissing couple photo yesterday morning, we couldn't help but wonder "Who are these two?" Now, luckily, they've been found!
Contrary to some online chatter that broke out around the second view of the couple, the real story is almost exactly as it appeared: a young couple comforting each other in the midst of chaos.
The couple, Scott Jones and Alexandra Thomas, was outed by Scott's father Brett, who posted the picture on Facebook page alongside the caption, "This is my son. How's that for making love, not war?" As the (Canadian) Star reports:
We don't know what the future holds for these two -- and, not knowing anything about their relationship we think it would be absurd to force them to stay together for the sake of our collective notions of romance -- but whatever they choose, we wish them all the best!

“She had actually been injured,” Brett Jones told the Star Friday morning from his home in Perth, Australia. “She had been knocked down by a shield” from the riot police.Scott Jones is an Australian actor/bartender in Canada for only a short while; he is leaving the country for a trip to California before heading home. Thomas, a Canadian, will reportedly travel with him as far as California.
“He lay down next to her to comfort her. She was crying and he just kissed her to calm her down.”
Even as a young boy, said Brett Jones, Scott demonstrated his “gentle side for other people. I’m not surprised he would comfort Alex.”
We don't know what the future holds for these two -- and, not knowing anything about their relationship we think it would be absurd to force them to stay together for the sake of our collective notions of romance -- but whatever they choose, we wish them all the best!
