Transit officials confirmed that straphangers on the L train will be able use their cell phones underground next week. 

Beginning Tuesday, a pilot program will offer service to five 14th street corridor stations as well as the 23rd street ACE station, by T-mobile and AT & T.

All underground subway stations are scheduled to offer service by 2016.
