Paul McCartney: ‘Apparently I have been hacked’
Though Paul McCartney met with journalists to promote his Showtime documentary “The Love We Make: Paul McCartney and The Concert for New York City” at the Television Critics Association press tour on Thursday, the music legend was asked about rumors that he was possibly a victim in the phone-hacking scandal by News Corp. journalists in the U.K.
“When I go back [to Britain] after this tour, I am going to talk to the police because apparently I have been hacked,” he confirmed via satellite from Cincinnati, a stop on his current tour of the U.S. “I don’t know much about it because they won’t tell anyone except the person themselves,” he said of investigators. “So I will be talking to them about that.”
McCartney called the hacking “a horrendous violation of privacy. I do think it has been going on for a long time and I do think more people than we know knew about it,” he said. “But I think I should just listen and hear what the facts are before I comment.”
