So next time someone you don’t know wins a Grammy Award, maybe start by Google searching their name.

Starting a Tumblr asking ‘Who is Bon Iver?’ is just silly.

Some tweets collected on the Tumblr account ask “Who is Bon Iver,” and “What is a Bon Iver?”

We get it, Bon Iver’s music is not on the Top 40 charts like Nicki Minaj is, but trust us, he has a pretty large following.

Here are a few facts about Bon Iver:

-His real name is Justin Vernon.

-He’s made two albums, “For Emma, Forever Ago” in 2008 and most recently in 2011 “Bon Iver, Bon Iver.”

-The albums are great, you should listen to them.

-He also won the Grammy for Best Alternative Album.

Remember when all hell broke loose last year when Arcade Fire won a Grammy Award? Even Rosie O’Donnell tweeted asking who Arcade Fire were. Also, let’s not forget that last year’s Best New Artist award went to Esperanza Spalding. The name of the award says it all -  it’s meant to be given to people who are up and coming musicians.

Just think about it this way, for Bon Iver, or Arcade Fire or whoever  to win a Grammy Award, clearly a large number of people have taken notice of their music.
