Don’t be ridiculous, Balki: Why is actor Bronson Pinchot restoring homes on DIY?

Remember Balki (Bronson Pinchot, left) from "Perfect Strangers"? Yes, but do we have to?

Networks really will turn any premise into a reality TV show. Or is it the last, desperate grasps at relevancy by former Hollywood stars that brings the truly absurd to our cable boxes?

It’s debatable after receiving this press release from DIY Network this morning:

“Remember Balki from ‘Perfect Strangers’?!  Oh yes, he’s restoring homes! ‘The Bronson Pinchot Project’ airs Saturdays at 10:30 p.m. ET following all new episodes of ‘The Vanilla Ice Project.’”

Sorry, Balki. We just can’t bring ourselves to do the Dance of Joy over this announcement — not even if “Ice Ice Baby” were playing right now.
