Our late-nights are going to be normal again starting Monday. After “The Colbert Report’ was suspended last week due to an emergency in Stephen Colbert’s family, the show will begin taping again.

According to a report in the New York Times, sources close to Colbert said he was caring for his 91-year-old mother Lorna.

Network spokesman Steve Albani said in an email statement last Thursday, “Due to unforseen circumstances, the show will air repeat episodes on Wednesday, February 15 and Thursday, February 16.”

According to various reports, Colbert, who is the youngest of 11 children, developed a very close relationship with his mother after his father and two brothers died in a plane crash when he was ten.

On Friday, Colbert tweeted, “My family and I would like to thank everyone who has offered their thoughts and prayers. We are grateful and touched by your concern.”
