Don Draper is based on real-life ad man Draper Daniels, who headed up the team responsible for the legendary Marlboro Man.

After 17 months, “Mad Men” returns to TV this weekend, with the season premier slated for Sunday night at 9 p.m. on AMC.

So much secrecy surrounds the show, notorious for its ability to keep plot lines mum and avoid spoilers from leaking, making it one of the most anticipated episodes of any show to air in years.
