Laurie Penny: Ryan Gosling saves woman from speeding taxi cab

“Hey girl, can I take you out sometime?”

Ryan Gosling is out on the streets breaking up fights and saving lives, one New Yorker at a time.

Laurie Penny, a British writer, had her life saved today by the man robbed of the Sexiest Man Alive title.

Gosling, who let’s not forget broke up a fight in the middle of the street, stopped Penny from walking directly into a speeding taxi in New York.

She tweeted:

“I literally, LITERALLY just got saved from a car by Ryan Gosling. Literally. That actually just happened.”

Well, we’re LITERALLY so jealous.

According to her Twitter account, Penny is a writer for  “the New Statesmen, Independent, Guardian, Al-Jazeera, The Nation and others.”

Ryan, if you’re reading this there are some Metro writers waiting for you to save them!

“I was crossing 6th avenue in a new pink wig. Not looking the right way because I am from London. Ryan Gosling grabbed me away from a taxi,” she then tweeted.

At first we were puzzled as to why she mentioned the pink wig. Then we remembered this is New York. Stranger things have happened.

A woman who saw this all happen confirmed that the life-saver was indeed Ryan Gosling.

The witness turned to Penny and called her a “lucky bitch.”

Our thoughts exactly.
