Instead of a regular old booze cruise, try an Odyssey

Champagne brunch on the high seas? Yes, please!

Dress up or dress down; go urban or rural. Either way, bring your sea legs and dancing shoes for dinner-cruising Boston’s inner harbor on an elegant yacht, or sailing New Hampshire’s Lake Winnipesaukee on a grand old ship.

The Odyssey’s Sunday Twilight Dinner Cruise’s band mixes Sinatra with Cee-Lo. Large glasses are rimmed with shrimp and filled with salmon and avocado mousses and fresh mango salsa. Tasty wines and beers pair with a starting salad of fresh mesclun leaves and sliced strawberries dressed with a hint of sweet tangy vinaigrette. The entree choices include tender, robustly flavored short rib matched with mash and orange-glazed salmon with an herby-earthy — in a good way — green tea-infused couscous. After a turn around the dance floor or outdoor deck, finish with rich chocolate torte or all-American cheesecake. Don’t miss Old Ironsides bellowing at dusk, though.
New Hampshire’s lakes district is dominated by majestic Lake Winnipesaukee, the Granite State’s largest lake. It’s big enough to take the magnificent S.S. Mount Washington II. Offering champagne brunches and various dinner cruises, the all-you-can eat buffet includes a beef carvery with traditional vegetables, baked fish, vegetarian pasta and salads.  After some calorie burning on the dance floor, it’s time for the dessert buffet. Don’t forget to pause to take in the breathtaking views all around.
