Thursday gossip roundup: One Direction’s Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson are just friends

UNIVERSAL CITY, CA - JUNE 16: (L to R) Singers Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne of the British pop group One Direction performs live at Gibson Amphitheatre on June 16.

It looks like Tom Cruise showed up in New York to spend time with daughter Suri Cruise just in time, as speculation has run rampant that the actor had abandoned his daughter in the wake of his divorce settlement with Katie Holmes — claims his lawyer, Bert Fields, calls ridiculous. “Until this week, Tom was shooting a film on location, but he spoke to Suri every day,” Fields insists to Page Six. “Tom dearly loves Suri, and the last thing he would ever do is abandon her.”

While Demi Moore‘s relationship with her daughters Rumer, Scout and Tallulah Willis may be strained, they’re certainly not as bad as Radar Online has reported. Earlier this week, the Web site claimed the three girls were “seriously considering talking about a restraining order against Demi to stop her from contacting them,” while a source tells the site that “Demi has been calling them incessantly and emailing them, leaving them tearful messages and begging them to call her, and the girls are sick of it.” But another source tells Us Weekly that things aren’t that bad. “It’s true they’re not all hunky-dory, getting along like they used to, but they’re not about to go to those extremes,” the source says. “They love their mom at the end of the day, and they’re never going to completely abandon her.”

One Direction members Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson are getting a bit tired of the rumors circulating that they’re secretly romantically involved, according to MTV News. “This is a subject that was funny at first but now is actually hard to deal with, as I am in a relationship,” says 20-year-old Tomlinson, who is dating model Eleanor Calder. “Me and Harry are best friends. People look into our every move — it is actually affecting the way me and Harry are in public.” That includes the physically playful attitude the band has become known for during public appearances. “We want to joke around, but there seems to be a different rumor every time we do anything,” he says. “I act the same with Harry as I do any of the other boys.”

It looks like Guy Ritchie and girlfriend Jacqui Ainsley are set to welcome another baby into their lives, as Ainsley showed off a visibly baby bump when the couple stepped out on the red carpet at the London premiere of “the Dark Knight Rises” earlier this year, according to Us Weekly. Ritchie and Ainsley, who have been dating since 2010, welcomed a son, Rafael, in September 2011. Ritchie also has two sons — one biological and one adopted — with ex-wife Madonna.

Russell Brand has had issues with his temper in the past, but he says that’s behind him thanks to yoga and meditation. “For the first time in my life I spend more time meditating and doing yoga than I do having sex,” Brand tells Piers Morgan in an interview. “That’s only because I do a hell of a lot of yoga. And they’re still neck and neck!”

Lindsay Lohan will in fact star opposite porn star James Deen in Bret Easton Ellis‘ sex-fueled thriller “the Canyons,” the production company for the film confirms in a press release. The film, which highlights “the dangers of sexual obsession and ambition, both personally and professionally,” has had a strong social media presence, including raising $150,000 on Kickstarter. “Everyone who landed their roles deserved them,” Ellis says. “Using social media as a way to help build a film is really like riding the wave into the future.”
