Monday gossip roundup: Chris Brown’s Twitter war with writer Jenny Johnson

Lindsay Lohan apparently has a friend in Charlie Sheen, who reportedly offered to help Lohan out with her hefty tax bill while they were filming “Scary Movie 5,” though Lohan politely declined the offer at the time, according to Hollyscoop. But sources say Sheen went ahead with the help anyway, sending Lohan’s business manager a check for $100,000. Lohan was reportedly so “overjoyed” that she forwarded it to the IRS. The troubled actress owes $233,904 in unpaid taxes from 2009 and 2010.

Chris Brown took on a Twitter critic — and lost. The temper tantrum-prone singer deleted his official Twitter account over the weekend after a lengthy and expletive-filled back-and-forth with comedian and writer Jenny Johnson. Toward the end of the row, Johnson made reference to Brown’s 2009 arrest for assaulting girlfriend Rihanna, writing, “I have zero respect for a person who seems unapologetic for the terrible crime he committed and shows no signs of changing,” to which Brown responded, “Just ask Rihanna if she mad.” Brown has been spending time with Rihanna in Europe recently, which would lead one to believe that she is not, in fact, mad.

Prince Charles, who recently celebrated his 64th birthday, may be growing tired of being the longest-waiting heir to the throne in British history, as his 86-year-old mother, the Queen, shows no sign of stepping down. “Impatient? Me? What a thing to suggest! Yes, of course I am,” Charles joked with reporters recently, according to the Telegraph. “I’ll run out of time soon. I shall have snuffed it if I’m not careful.”

Animal-friendly actress Miley Cyrus turned 20 last week, and to celebrate the occasion animal rights group PETA got her a pig. Sort of. The group sponsored a pig in her honor named Nora at a Florida farm that provides refuge to neglected or abused animals, the group announced. “PETA knew that sponsoring a rescued pig was the perfect birthday present for a young woman who spends so much time encouraging others to help animals,” a PETA spokeswoman says.

After Anne Hathaway chopped off her long brunette locks for the film “Les Miserables,” she discovered an unexpected family resemblance. “When I eventually looked in the mirror I just though I looked like my gay brother,” Hathaway told a preview screening audience in New York, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
