Some of us need to do something special to make up for the fact that we made Dad go grey so early in life. This Father’s Day, go beyond a card and a tie. Spend the day with the guy at one of these events taking place this Sunday.

Eviama Life Spa
When you’re thinking of what to get pop for Father’s Day, a day at the spa may not be the first thing that comes to mind. But Eviama Life Spa is offering discounted specials, including the “Dad’s Got Your Back” package, which is a back and shoulder hair removal. It’s like a present for Mom, too. And if you have any remorse for the stress you put him through during your teen years, you can alleviate some guilt by letting him step into a relaxing sauna.

“Grease”
For those whose father was — or still is — a tough greaser, or if your dad loves musicals, treat him to a classic with the Walnut Street Theatre’s production of “Grease.” Decked out in authentic costumes and perfectly quaffed hair, the actors of “Grease” are bringing to life some of the most memorable and well-loved songs from the movie.

Father’s Day Car Show
If Dad’s into the idea of grease, but not so into the theater scene, head to the northeast for the Father’s Day Car Show at the Radisson Hotel Philadelphia Northeast, where you can cruise muscle cars and classic models. Dad can chow down at the outdoor barbecue and bar, or you can be a decent kid and spring for the indoor brunch.

Steak Tasting
It’s hard to imagine a dad who would turn down a steak tasting, especially if it’s taking place at the Northern Italian fine dining destination Davio’s. Not only will dads in attendance get a full range of flavors in the three-course meal, but he will also get the sports section and a complimentary beer. If he chooses to ignore you a little during dinner, this is why.

Down the shore

If you’re going to be at the shore with Dad this weekend, get him to test his iron stomach at the fry-eating contest at Morey’s Piers. Dads will get a complimentary “ride and slide” wristband that gives him a free pass on most rides at all three piers. We suggest doing that before attempting to eat pound affter pound of fries from Curley’s.
