VIDEO: 96-year-old man writes love song to wife
A 96-year-old Illinois man wrote a love song for his wife, and sent the lyrics to a recording studio — which produced the song for him.
Fred Stobaugh wrote “Oh Sweet Lorraine” about his wife of 75 years. Jacob Colgan and Green Shoe Studio received the lyrics from Stobaugh as part of a contest it was running — actually, the studio was seeking demos of performed songs — and decided to use the lyrics in a song it would later share with Stobaugh.
You can hear the near-finished product here, with a slideshow of photos of the couple, including Stobaugh’s reaction to hearing the song.
