Millionaire family the Kardashians might have some splainin' to do when it comes to the use of sweat shops for several of their heavily peddled brands.

An investigation by Star magazine claims to reveal that "slave labor" is used in manufacturing products for K-Dash by Kardashian, the Kris Jenner Kollection and ShoeDazzle.

Apparently those brands are produced in areas of China that are not regulated by the government. Workers put in 84-hour weeks, scraping by on dollar-per-hour wages. Cruel or inhumane treatment may be forced upon workers as young as 16 -- the same age as Kendall Jenner, who was recently partying at a lavish L.A. party thrown by her mom on her birthday, not sweating it out as she hand-sewed sequins onto a clutch in a 100-plus degree Chinese factory.

Li Qiang, the executive director of China Labor Watch accused the Kardashians of being more concerned with making money (Gasp! The Kardashians!? Noooo) than the treatment of workers.

"People like the Kardashians are producing their products in China because they will get more profit, since the labor cost is so low compared to the United States and other countries," Qiang said to Star.

In case you're wondering, the Kardashians raked in $65 million last year. This investigation will likely fuel the fire of recent negative media attention for the family. The magazine hits stands just as a new campaign launched, ousting Kim Kardashian for paying only one percent more in taxes than other Californians, despite her $12 million income in 2010.
