Lorde shows fans real, unretouched skin

Unlike most mortals, Lorde wants the world to know she does not have perfect skin.

The world’s coolest 17-year-old put up two photos of herself on Twitter from a performance on Sunday and wrote, “i find this curious – two photos from today, one edited so my skin is perfect and one real. remember flaws are ok :-)”

One photo shows the young singer with smooth, flawless skin, giving her the appearance of a porcelain doll. The other photo? It shows the real Lorde, warts and all. Well, no, she doesn’t have any warts, but she does have a few zits, like any other teenager.

Lorde isn’t the first celebrity to speak out on an airbrushed, perfected photo of herself. Nicki Minaj and actress Ashley Benson recently expressed their dismay over Photoshopped images of themselves, but Lorde took it a step further by releasing such a close-up, raw photo.

Unsurprisingly, Lorde’s fans loved the honest admission. They tweeted responses like “love you for this” and “I love everything about you! Flaws and all! You’re genuine and nothing is more badass than that!”

Lorde: She’s still not a royal, but she’s pretty darn close.
