Philip Seymour Hoffman bumps Drake off Rolling Stone cover: Drake mad!

Drake-559x290

Drake has a little problem with Rolling Stone.

The singer/actor/Canadian has sworn off magazine interviews after he claims Rolling Stone tossed his cover slot for the late Philip Seymour Hoffman on this month’s issue — and misquoted him regarding his “mentor” Kanye West’s “Yeezus” album.

“There were some real questionable bars on there. Like that ‘Swaghili’ line? Come on, man. Even Fabolous wouldn’t say some s— like that,” he supposedly said, which the mag then printed. Drake took to Twitter to recant the line. “I never commented on Yeezus for my interview portion of Rolling Stone,” he wrote. “They also took my cover from me last minute and ran the issue.”

Regarding the “took my cover” mention — that’s media speak for Drake being promised the cover in exchange for the interview. He was apparently then bumped by the editors for Hoffman.

“I’m disgusted with that. RIP to Phillip Seymour Hoffman. All respect due. But the press is evil,” he wrote (it should be noted that all of Drake’sTweets have since been deleted). “I’m done doing interviews for magazines. I just want to give my music to the people. That’s the only way my message gets across accurately.”

That, or Twitter.

Thankfully, before he was “done doing interviews” he did one with us that you can read right here. He also answered some questions from the band Deer Tick, which you can listen to here.
