Obama loves TV: ‘True Detective,’ ‘Game of Thrones,’ ‘House of Cards’
President Obama probably spent President’s Day weekend like the rest of us: watching lots of TV. He asked HBO CEO Richard Plepler for advance copies of “True Detective” and “Game of Thrones” last week to keep him occupied over the holiday, reports the New York Times.
The president must have had an especially busy weekend, since he was also catching up on Netflix’s “House of Cards.” Obama’s official Twitter account posted on Thursday: “Tomorrow: @HouseOfCards. No spoilers, please.” We hope he had dinner with the First Lady before he dove into a marathon like everyone else on Twitter and Facebook. We’re guessing he couldn’t get advance screeners for Netflix’s hit political thriller series.
Presidents: They’re just like us! Except they get advance copies of TV’s hottest shows when they have HBO CEOs over for dinner.
They’re not really just like us. But they do like good TV.
