It’s all right: A ‘Saved by the Bell’ movie is coming to Lifetime
Following news that they’re making an unauthorized Whitney Houston biopic and an unauthorized Aaliyah movie (not to mention that Grumpy Cat movie), Lifetime will now be making an unauthorized “Saved by the Bell” movie. What adventures will these young teens have in this behind the scenes take? We’re guessing “Mark-Paul Gosselaar” (Dylan Everett) will have a real life enormous cell phone to carry around outside the show, but lack the ability to freeze time whenever he wants to change events to his advantage. The Hollywood Reporter says the original SBTB casting director, Robin Lippin, helped cast the movie, so we have faith that Dylan will perfectly capture the essence of one of our favorite ’90s dreamboats.
The movie is set to premiere on September 1 at 9 p.m. That would be Labor Day, so most likely you’ll be feeling sunburned and bloated from eating too much barbecue by that time of night. In other words, the perfect time to lounge around on your couch watching an unauthorized docudrama about the teen sitcom drama you grew up with. Lifetime, we see what you did there.
Fingers crossed for an updated take on the stone cold classic theme song.
