The Word: Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez love their moms, not each other

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have a lot in common: They both love their moms, and they both shared that love via Twitter on Mother’s Day. But maternal adoration is not enough to rekindle their romance.

“I love my momma. Great night tonight,” Justin tweeted. He included a picture of his mom, Pattie Mallette, onstage with him as he tackle-hugged her from behind, and gave her a dozen roses.

Pattie was a much more welcome guest onstage than at Justin’s recent Dubai concert, when a male fan rushed the stage. Bieber was seated, playing his song “Believe” on the piano, when the fan, dressed in a T-shirt and shorts, ran on to the stage and appeared to grab the 19-year-old Canadian superstar.

Selena Gomez looks to be sharing her mom with a new sibling soon.

As for Selena Gomez, it looks like she may soon have to share her mom with a little brother or sister. She tweeted a pic of her mother, Mandy Cornett, looking very pregnant. “Hope all the amazing moms had a great day! I have the best momma in the world :)) I love you so much!” Selena wrote.

So Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez both love their moms. They both love hugging those moms from behind. They both love Twitter. Sounds like a perfect couple. But Selena doesn’t agree: On Friday, she told Boston’s KISS 108 that she’s “completely available.”
