It pays to be Tony Stark, both in the comic book world and in our world. Robert Downey Jr., who portrays Tony “Iron Man” Stark in the Iron Man and Avengers movies, earned an estimated $75 million last year, making him the highest-paid actor in Hollywood, according to Forbes.

RDJ is joined by a host of other savvy action and comedy stars. Channing Tatum hits #2 thanks to the wild success of “Magic Mike,” which he and director Steven Soderbergh financed themselves, and Mark Wahlberg earned a $52 million payday thanks to “Ted.” But none of them came close to Downey’s $75 million. All that, and he gets to fly around in the Iron Man suit! Yes he does. Shut up. Iron Man is real.

Despite the awesome paycheck, RDJ isn’t sure he wants to be a superhero much longer. “I’m 48, and I’m torn about it. One part of me wants to stop right now, and another part of me doesn’t want to let go. Let’s just say that I hope to be able to decide what to do when the times comes. I don’t want to be like those rock bands that continue going on tour when they’re over 60 and looking like zombies,” he told Metro.
