Another day, another celebrity sex scandal. The only reason this one is different from the scum that floats to the surface of TMZ on a daily basis is that the celeb didn’t cheat with an actual human.

Thomas Gibson, best known for his starring roles in “Criminal Minds” and “Dharma & Greg,” had a two year online relationship with a woman in North Dakota, according to TMZ. The actor, who is married and has three children, would exchange explicit photos and videos. However, the woman didn’t actually exist – the photos she sent Gibson were stolen from porn sites.

When Gibson got wind that he was more or less dating a spam bot, he and his lawyers cut off contact with her (him? Them? It?). His spurned lover turned around and sold some of his videos to TMZ.

You can watch a couple of them below. Although Gibson’s in his hot tub, they are completely safe for work, which makes me doubt that this whole thing is as bad as TMZ is making it out to be. Gibson talks about his kids, clarifies that he is definitely wearing clothes, and mutters “I don’t know what to say.” He could have posted these on his public twitter and no one would have cared, except possibly to complain about how boring they were. Gibson didn’t so much have an affair, it seems, as choose-your-own-adventure porn.
