The Word: Christina Hendricks wants to be on ‘Game of Thrones’

NEW YORK, NY - SEPTEMBER 12: Christina Hendricks attends the premiere of The Weinstein Company's 'I Don't Know How She Does It' after party sponsored by QVC & Palladium Jewelry at Hudson Hotel on September 12, 2011 in New York City. “If you’re lucky, in a year you’ll be living in King’s Landing with us. And if you’re really lucky, you won’t be living in Westeros at all.”

“Go home. Put a paper bag over your dragon’s head. Really evaluate its strengths and weaknesses. And be honest.”

Oh, hey, I didn’t see you there. I was just writing some dialogue for Christina Hendricks when she joins the cast of “Game of Thrones.” Not that that’s set in stone or anything, but with “Mad Men” drawing to a close, she’s expressed an interest. “I want to be on ‘Homeland’ because I love the suspense of it, but I also want to be on ‘Game of Thrones.’ I want to wear pelts and horns and ride around on horseback,” Hendricks told the Hollywood Reporter.

I can’t imagine anyone in the world who would object to that. I might finally get HBO if it means I can see Hendricks making breathy, passive-aggressive comments to people as she cuts off their heads.

Breaking news: Christina Hendricks to play a stripper in the film adaptation of you don’t even care, do you?

The supernaturally beautiful “Mad Men” star will appear in the upcoming film of “Dark Places,” a mystery novel by Gillian Flynn, author of last summer’s megahit mystery “Gone Girl.” According to Deadline, Hendricks will portray Krissi Cates, a stripper with a dark secret with important implications for protagonist Libby Day (Charlize Theron) and her imprisoned brother (Corey Stoll).
