The Word: Lindsay Lohan asked to host ‘Saturday Night Live’ premiere
We’ve all been so focused on Lindsay Lohan’s apparently successful stint in rehab this year that we may be missing the bigger story: Is Lindsay Lohan a comedian now?
The actress’s first job post-rehab was filling in as host on “Chelsea Lately.” Now word comes that she’s been asked to host the premiere of “Saturday Night Live.” According to Radar, the show reached out to offer her the first spot.
Of course, hosting SNL doesn’t make you a comedian. And Lindsay has always had friends there – “Mean Girls,” probably her most beloved film, was produced by SNL showrunner Lorne Michaels. Still, Lindsay’s always had good comic timing. And I for one would certainly pay to see her do standup. It certainly wouldn’t be boring.
In a recent interview with Oprah, the actress seemed ready to admit that things have gone badly wrong of late, and said she believed her behavior had its roots in an unstable childhood. “A lot of stuff went on with my family when I was young and I grew up in a very chaotic home, and then there were moments of everything being wonderful and perfect and then things being so uncontrollable and chaotic that — it’s something people go through and unfortunately I waited too long to face it,” she told Oprah.
