The Word: Who tried to shame Jennifer Lawrence into dieting?

Somewhere in Hollywood is a monster who not only tried to persuade Jennifer Lawrence, our perfect angel of Oscars and fart jokes, into slimming down — they did it by body-shaming her in the meanest way possible.

“Somebody told me I was fat, that I was going to get fired if I didn’t lose a certain amount of weight. They brought in pictures of me where I was basically naked, and told me to use them as motivation for my diet,” the “Hunger Games” star told Harper’s Bazaar.

Jennifer said that although she had already won an Oscar, being told she was fat still hurt her feelings — but that she has no plans to diet, now or ever. “I was hurt. It doesn’t matter what accolades you get. I know it’ll never happen to me again. If anybody even tries to whisper the word ‘diet,’ I’m like, ‘You can go f— yourself.’”

That’s our girl. Seriously though, who had the nerve to say that to her after she won her Oscar? She was already one of the biggest stars in the world then. Audiences and critics alike had already established that they liked her just as she was, Cheez-Its habit and all. Lawrence doesn’t get “practically naked” all that often, except when she’s playing Mystique, which suggests the culprit may be someone in the X-Men franchise.
