The Word: David Beckham crashed his car right outside his house

They do say most accidents happen within 10 minutes of the home. That’s true for David Beckham, unless his driveway is 11 minutes long. Well, I wouldn’t rule that out, I guess.

Becks was pulling his Range Rover out of the driveway of his home in Beverly Hills with his 14-year-old son, Brooklyn, in the passenger seat, when he ran into an oncoming car, according to the Daily Mail.

Neither Becks, Brooklyn, nor the woman in the other car were hurt, but Beckham’s $75,000 Range Rover was badly damaged – it lost its front bumper.

The true tragedy is that the fender-bender probably killed the Beckham family’s endorphin high – earlier in the day, Posh, Becks, and Brooklyn all attended a spin class together. You know, like most teenage boys do with their parents.

Maybe Becks can take comfort in the new philosophy he’s inspired: Becksistentialism. Andy Martin, creator of the new movement, told Metro that Beckham’s inspiring partly because he’s a blank slate. “That’s right to an extent but he’s also good because he acts philosophically without being articulate. There are messages in his tattoos and haircuts. He’s also a bit irresistible as a subject because he is seen as not thinking, which is probably a mistake, and I rectify that.”
