The Word: Zac Efron breaks his jaw

Zac Efron’s having a rough year. After two stays in rehab, he’s back in treatment — but this time for purely medical reasons.

The “Parkland” star slipped and fell in a puddle in his home and broke his jaw, according to People. The break sounds really nasty — his jaw is wired shut and a gash on his face required stitches.

Efron was scheduled to promote his upcoming film “That Awkward Moment” this week, but those events have been postponed, presumably because a guy whose jaw is held together with stitches and wire isn’t the best advertisement for a lighthearted romantic comedy.

It really sucks that this happened to a guy who seems like he’s trying hard to put his life back together. On the bright side, maybe some cool scars will make his baby face a little more badass?

In October Efron celebrated his 26th birthday with a round of golf with his dad during the day and small shindig with friends — no girls allowed — at Chateau Marmont, according to Us Weekly. The former “High School Musical” star, who completed a stint in rehab earlier this year for reported problems with cocaine and alcohol, was joined by Robert Pattinson, Joe Jonas and Michael B. Jordan for the festivities.
