There’s been a reckoning coming for Justin Bieber for awhile now. This morning, it may have finally caught up with him.

The pop star was arrested Thursday morning in Miami Beach for driving under the influence and drag racing, according to Detective Vivian Hernandez with the Miami Beach Police — apparently the young pop star failed a field sobriety test after he was pulled over.

Information is scant right now, but I’m sure we’ll have more details soon — and, of course, stay tuned for that mug shot. What do you think that Bieber pouf looks like after getting thrown in the clink?

All joking aside, Bieber is clearly a kid in trouble. I hope he has people around him who are sensible and tough enough to help him walk it back, because what’s happening now is no longer remotely cute. It’s getting hard to laugh at Justin Bieber’s tailspin. And I would really, really prefer to laugh at Justin Bieber.

Drag racing. Heh. OK, the magic’s not entirely gone.

UPDATE: Apparently it’s even worse than initially reported: Not only was Bieber arrested for DUI and drag racing, but he was also driving on an expired license and resisted arrest, according to TMZ.

Apparently, Bieber’s entourage had blocked off Miami streets with their cars so that Bieber could have the road to himself for a drag strip. ”Kid needs help,” police spokesman Bobby Hernandez told the Miami New Times.

TMZ says the police report indicates Bieber “reeked” of alcohol, had bloodshot eyes and appeared to be in a “stupor.”

Bieber was very belligerent with the police who stopped him, saying, ”Why the f— are you doing this?” He also yelled, “What the f— did I do? Why did you stop me?”

When cops patted him down, Bieber reportedly yelled, ”I ain’t got no f—ing weapons, why do you have to search me? What the f— is this about?”

Given that he was apparently wasted, speeding and wasn’t even a legal driver, I’d say what the f— it was about was saving his life.

This is only Bieber’s most recent brush with the law: He’s potentially facing felony vandalism charges for throwing eggs at his neighbor’s house. A police raid of Bieber’s home following that incident turned up evidence of drug use as well, leading to the arrest of his friend Lil Za.
