Meryl Streep is widely acknowledged as the greatest actress in the world. She certainly must be the coolest actress in the world: Even rapper 50 Cent and basketball star Kobe Bryant couldn’t help but be charmed by her.

Fitty and the incomparable Ms. Streep were seated side-by-side at Sunday night’s Knicks game, and they clearly hit it off, as you can see from the above photo from 50 Cent’s Instagram. “Things got a little gangsta. Lol TURN UP, Turn Down for what!” he wrote of their bonding moment with Kobe after the game.

Though it was the night of the Grammys, both 50 and Meryl looked too enchanted by their new BFF to be bummed that they weren’t at the ceremony. Fitty, in fact, conducted his own postgame awards ceremony: “Best ball KOBE, Best Rap 50,Best Actress Meryl Streep. TOP THAT #SMSAUDIO,” he captioned another photo of the trio.

So what led this odd couple to bond in the first place? No word on Ms. Streep’s side — she’s too busy being peerless to be on social media. But yet another Meryl pic on 50′s Instagram reveals that he’s a big Streep fan. “August: Osage County is a movie you must see,” he wrote. “I was laughing but I ain’t gonna lie. Girl you scared the s— out of me. In that movie.”

Pretty high compliment from a guy who got shot nine times. He’s presumably not scared of much.
