How is Tracy Morgan doing?
Tracy Morgan successfully underwent surgery and is more responsive, his representative says.
In a statement, Morgan’s rep addressed the extent of his injuries. “He sustained a number of injuries including a broken leg, a broken femur, a broken nose and several broken ribs. He had surgery earlier today on his leg. We expect him to remain in the hospital for several weeks. His family is tremendously overwhelmed and appreciative of the outpouring of love and support from his fans,” he told People.
Though Morgan remains in critical condition, he is more responsive, which his representative calls “an incredibly encouraging sign.”
The 45-year-old comedian also underwent a kidney transplant in 2010 due to complications from diabetes.
Morgan was injured Saturday when a tractor trailer struck his limo bus. Six other people besides Morgan were injured and one, comedian James McNair, was killed.
It sounds like Morgan is on the road to recovery, which is a relief. Probably the best thing to do at this juncture is keep him and the other crash victims in our thoughts and watch this video of his 30 Rock character befriending a pigeon.
