Cool Down at WGBH with Ice Cream and Beer

WGBH hosting two summer events.  FunFest returns with family activities 11am-4pm; Inaugural Craft Beer Fest 7pm-10pm

BOSTON, Mass. (June 14, 2013) – There are few things more refreshing in mid-July than ice cream and a cold beer. WGBH will host two events on Saturday, July 13 to help Boston area residents stay cool: a return of the WGBH FunFest from 11am to 4pm and the first-ever WGBH Craft Beer Fest from 7pm to 10pm. Both events will be held at WGBH Studios (One Guest Street, Brighton).

Both events are expected to sell out, and WGBH is recruiting volunteers to accommodate the 2,000+ attendees.

Descriptions of both events follow:

·         The WGBH FunFest returns, offering a day of family fun, live musical performances and ice cream from Friendly’s, JP Licks, Ben & Jerry’s, Abbott’s Frozen Custard, Batch and b.good shakes. Kids will have the chance to enjoy interactive games, face painting and can meet PBS characters Peep, Word Girl, Curious George, Arthur, Clifford and Buddy the Dinosaur

For those guests who get hungry during FunFest or the Craft Beer Fest, some of Boston’s most popular food trucks will be camped out on Guest Street, including Bon Me, Moyzilla and Roxy’s Gourmet Grilled Cheese.

Individual tickets are $10 and a family four-pack is $35.
