Fantasia with Special Guests After 7

Grammy Award winner Fantasia (“I Believe,” “Without Me”) sings from the soul, demonstrating the winning ways that led her to an “American Idol” championship.Gritty blues, smooth R&B, songs drenched with emotion, and lush, romantic music are all part of Fantasia’s repertoire, which includes the hits “Lose to Win,” “When I See U,” “Truth Is” and her latest album, Side Effects of You. Following Fantasia’s 2004 triumph on American Idol, the hit “I Believe” made her the first recording artist to enter the Billboard charts at Number One with a debut single.

Fantasia Monique Barrino knows a few things about success. For a full year, the singer took the lead role of Celie in the Broadway musical The Color Purple and was cast in the upcoming film adaptation; she is the special guest star in After Midnight, also on the Great White Way. Her television reality series, Fantasia for Real, ran on VH1 for two seasons.

Opening are R&B hitmakers After 7 (“Ready or Not,” “Heat of the Moment,” “Can’t Stop”), the trio of Kevon Edmonds, Jason Edmonds (son of original member Melvin Edmonds) and Keith Mitchell. Influenced by such groups as The Temptations and The Four Tops, the classy After 7 combines a contemporary vibe with the smooth sounds of the Sixties. These vocal powerhouses have shared the stage with Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Gladys Knight, R. Kelly, Smokey Robinson and many other great artists.
