Kinky Boots

Kinky Boots

Kinky Boots follows Charlie Price, who is forced to step in inherit his family’s failing shoe factory in Northern England, following the sudden death of his father.

Help comes from the unlikeliest form, an exuberant drag performer named Lola. Together, this improbable duo not only revitalizes the nearly bankrupt business, but helps one another grow into the men their fathers always dreamed their sons would become and transforms an entire community through the power of acceptance.

Inspired by a true story and based on the 2005 British film of the same name, Kinky Boots features a warm and witty book by four-time Tony Award-winner Harvey Fierstein (La Cage, Torch Song Trilogy, Newsies) and a richly diverse musical score from Grammy Award-winning Cyndi Lauper, in her theatrical debut.

Kinky Boots scooped up an astounding six 2013 Tony Awards out of the thirteen it was nominated for, including some of the most enviable awards – Best Musical, Best Choreography, Best Orchestrations, and Best Original Score.
