Zoogma – Damn Right! and Tweed

Zoogma combines the sonic diversity and precision of a DJ with the excitement and immediacy of a five piece rock group. Known for their energetic performances and retina pleasing light show, the band consistently dishes out heavy-weight beat-driven dance parties across the nation. Sets are kinetic, combining live improvisation with carefully crafted beats and melodic textures.

With the release of their debut album, Recreational Vehicles, along with a relentless tour schedule, the five members have already added their unique voice to the live electronic-rock scene. Evolving in Oxford, MS, Zoogma’s sound can be described as an eclectic fusion of Electronica, Rock, Jazz, World, and Hip-Hop. This blend of genres results in a musical experience that appeals to a range of audiences, with a sound that is refreshingly original yet steeped in the dance music tradition.

Sharing the stage with acts such as Perpetual Groove, Pnuma Trio, Big Gigantic, Eliot Lipp, Keller Williams, The New Mastersounds, and Ozric Tentacles, Zoogma is poised to captivate you!

Damn Right! formed onstage at the legendary Baltimore venue, the 8X10. The members of the band immediately noticed a distinct chemistry and so did The 8X10. Over the next few years the 8X10 took Damn Right! under it’s wing and allowed them to nurture their sound through seasonal residencies. These residencies helped the band to refine their signature sound through countless hours of improvisationa l dance music to the willing ears of Baltimore natives – who know a good party when they see it!

Since the birth of Damn Right! in 2007, the band has been performing all over the great United States of America. On its beaches, mountain tops, festival stages, and some of the most renown clubs and theaters to grace this great land. Throughout their adventures, Damn Right! has had some of the worlds most talented musicians sit in and record with the them including Bernie Worrell of P-Funk and The Talking Heads, Billy Martin of Medeski Martin & Wood, Aron Magner and Jon Gutwillig of the Disco Biscuits, Marco Benevento of the Benevento/Russo Duo, and legendary drummer Johnny Rabb. These players add to the rich, sonic, fabric Damn Right! creates in a live setting.

Spawned out of the fiery depths of the University of Delaware underground, Tweed is the psychedelic combination dream melting jam, funk, electronica, and experimental rock. Guitarist AJ DiBiase and synth master Jon Tomczak bring shredding riffs and groovy vibes, while bassist Paul Braden drops Chernobyl-style nuclear bass-bombs, and drummer Joe Vela meticulously formulates rhythm-induced warfare. The four joined forces in the Fall of 2010 and although young, Tweed’s music inspires and excites, fueled from lyrics provoked by experience and emotion. Their collaboration can take the listeners from multi-layered visions through the psyche to sweaty, raging dance parties driven by their own incessant beat…
