Three people were seriously injured when a school bus collided with a car in Brooklyn on Tuesday morning, DNAinfo.com reports.

The crash, near East 5th Street and Avenue C in Kensington,  took place around 7 a.m. and left both the front of the bus and driver’s side of the car badly damaged.

Two of the injured were reportedly taken to Kings County Hospital while the third was taken to Maimonides Medical Center. The ages and identities of the patients have not been released.

A Brooklyn man is injured after falling between two moving subway cars on Saturday night, the Daily News reports.

The G train in question was arriving at the 15 St.-Prospect Park stop at the time of the incident. The victim was reportedly crossing from one car to another when he fell between the tracks.

It is not clear if he was struck by the train as it passed, but his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

In January, a man was killed after falling between subway cars, but an M.T.A. spokesperson told Gothamist that locking the doors between trains is not currently under consideration.

A man was struck and killed by a livery cab while riding his bike near the Brooklyn Museum early Sunday morning, police said.

The cyclist had been traveling eastbound on Eastern Parkway when he was hit by the taxi going the same direction at about 1:15 a.m. He was taken to Methodist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Daily News reports that the man was wearing a helmet but was not carrying any identification.

The driver of the livery cab remained on the scene, police said. An investigation is ongoing.

Nearly 50 people were injured on Friday when two commuter trains collided during evening rush hour near the Connecticut town of Fairfield, shutting down Amtrak service between New York and Boston indefinitely, police and transit officials said.

Authorities said there were no reports of fatalities in the accident that occurred shortly after 6 p.m. EDT (2200 GMT).

Anita Shrum, a spokeswoman for Bridgeport Hospital, said one person was seriously injured but the other 21 people it had received could be described as “walking wounded” with a variety of injuries. “They are doing OK, they are very stable,” Shrum said.

Dianne Auger, a spokeswoman for St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, said one of the 27 people taken there was in serious condition with head and neck injuries. Commuter trains on this busy commuter line to New York typically carry up to 300 passengers.

The number of injured could rise because hospital officials were told to prepare to receive up to 180 patients total.

The accident occurred when an eastbound train on the Metro-North commuter rial line derailed and collided with a train headed in the opposite direction near the suburban town of Fairfield, said spokesman Aaron Donovan of the Metropolitan Transit Authority, which runs the railroad.

Amtrak officials said in a statement that it suspended service indefinitely on the heavily traveled Northeast Corridor between Boston and New York.

The cause of the derailment was not immediately known. Fairfield is about 50 miles north of New York City.

A man was struck and killed by an MTA bus Wednesday in front of Elmhurst Hospital in Queens, according to police.

The victim was walking onto the street in between two parked cars when he was hit by an oncoming Q53 bus at approximately 7:36 p.m. The incident occurred in front of Elmhurst Hospital, where the victim was pronounced dead on arrival.

The bus remained on the scene. No arrests were made, and the investigation is ongoing.

A 2-year-old boy who was injured Saturday evening when a car jumped a Brooklyn sidewalk is believed to be brain-dead, and his mother who remains in a coma does not know, the New York Post has reported.

Family members said 37-year-old Wendy McLein was in a semicoma, and her 2-year-old son, Denim, is brain-dead at Kings County Hospital.

A total of 12 people were injured when a vehicle jumped the curb at Church and Utica Avenues in East Flatbush and crashed into scaffolding at approximately 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. The driver of the car told police she lost control of the vehicle when her brakes failed, sending her through a red light and onto the sidewalk. Cops said she passed a breathalyzer test and would not be charged, the Post reports.

Doctors assured McLein’s family that the toddler is not in any pain. They said the mother is expected to recover but has a difficult road ahead.

Cops are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed while crossing a street in Queens on Tuesday night.

Juliana Busto, 22, was hit at the intersection of 47th Street and Laurel Hill Boulevard in Maspeth about 11:16 p.m. Police officers determined that Busto was attempting to cross Laurel Hill Boulevard within the crosswalk when she was struck by a 2002 Chevy Avalanche traveling westbound on the road.

The woman was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

An elderly man and a dirt bike rider were injured Sunday night in the Bronx when a cop car bumped the dirt bike, causing it to strike the pedestrian.

A 20-year-old man was driving the dirt bike about 5:30 p.m. when a police cruiser bumped it, forcing it to flip and hit a 77-year-old man who was waiting to cross the street at Boston Road near Thwaites Place in Pelham Gardens, witnesses told the New York Post. The 20-year-old was part of a larger group of riders on bikes and four-wheelers, witnesses said.

Police have contradicted the witnesses’ accounts, saying there was no contact between the cop car and the bike. The cruiser was making a U-turn when the dirt bike spun out of control as the driver tried to flee, cops told the Post.

Both the pedestrian and the dirt-bike rider were recovering at Jacobi Medical Center.

A yellow school bus and a livery cab collided this morning on Grand Central Parkway in Queens.

The bus was spun around from the force of the collision, which occurred around 6:30 a.m. on the westbound side of the highway near the 31st Street exit in Astoria.

Three people were on the bus at the time of the accident, Eyewitness News reported. The driver was being treated for injuries that were not considered serious.

Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed by an MTA bus Thursday evening in the Oakland Gardens neighborhood of Queens.

The victim, 55, was hit near the intersection of 73rd Avenue and Springfield Boulevard at around 7:30 p.m, police said. The QM3 bus was traveling west on 73rd Avenue and making a left-hand turn onto Springfield Boulevard when the rear end of the bus struck the victim. She was taken to Long Island Jewish Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

The victim’s identity has not been released and the investigation is ongoing.

The crossing guard who was on duty when a Harlem boy was hit by a truck and killed on Thursday has been suspended, according to police.

Flavia Roman, 55, was suspended on Thursday after 6-year-old Amar Diarrosova was run down by a tractor-trailer as he was crossing First Avenue at 117th Street. Roman was not at the intersection even though she was supposed to be on duty. She told reporters she was taking a break.

Diarrosova was on his way to school with his older brother. The driver of the truck, Robert Carroll Jr. of New Jersey, was given a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian and another for failure to exercise due care.

UPDATE: The driver of the truck that killed 6-year-old Amar Diarrosova was Robert Carroll, Jr. of Woodbury, New Jersey.

Carroll has been given a summons for failure to yield to a pedestrian and another for failure to exercise due care.

Local City Councilwoman Melissa Mark-Viverito commented on the incident this afternoon, calling it “an absolute tragedy,” and offering condolences to the Diarrosova family.

“My office has been in touch with the local police precinct through the day… so that we can understand the specifics of what took place and see what action might be needed to prevent a similar horrific accident,” Mark-Viverito said.

A six-year-old boy was killed by a tractor-trailer in East Harlem Thursday morning crossing the street on his way to school, while the school crossing guard was taking a break.

The boy was crossing First Avenue on his way to school with his nine-year-old brother when the vehicle turned right off of 117th Street and struck him, police said. They were half a block from PS 155.

He was rushed to Harlem Hospital where he was pronounced dead from severe head injuries. His identity is being withheld until the family can be notified. The older brother was unharmed.

The crossing guard was in tears as she told 1010 WINS that she had stepped away from her post for a five-minute bathroom break.

The truck driver didn’t realize he had hit anyone until witnesses flagged him down a block away, according to a law enforcement source. He returned to the scene and was not charged. NYPD said in a statement that “there is no criminality suspected at this time.”
