When it comes to pegging the most fabulous events going down for Pride Week, we couldn’t think of a better expert to tap to run down a few of them than Ms. Kris Knievil (of Jacque’s Cabaret and the Gold Dust Orphans). Says Knievil, “Pride Week in Boston is a when we in the gay community look back to remember our past, celebrate what we have accomplished, and plan on what needs to be done in the future. There are many fabulous events, and as a full time performing drag artist I’ll be at many of them. Here are some of my must see/do events:”
Gay Pride hasn’t always been a 10-day, all-inclusive celebration that culminates with a parade in which condoms, candy and swag are thrown to throngs of revelers lining the route. There was a time when the last place politicians, corporations and anyone with a secret wanted to be seen was anywhere near the angry protest marches that began after the riots at the Stonewall Inn in New York City.
