Brooklyn district attorney candidate Abe George is expected to sue CBS to block the network from airing a new show featuring longtime Brooklyn D.A. Charles Hynes.

George, 34, wants the station to delay airing the show until after the election, the Daily News reports. It is currently scheduled to premier May 21.

“I am surprised CBS News would conspire to violate campaign finance laws,” said George, who called the new series an “infomercial.”

The six-part documentary series, called “Brooklyn D.A.,” follows those who work in the borough’s D.A. office, one of the largest in the country.

George and another challenger in the upcoming election, Kenneth Thompson, were both angered by the news of the show.

George also plans to lead a protest Tuesday at CBS headquarters in Midtown.

As Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes prepares for an upcoming Democratic primary, he is also getting ready for his reality TV debut. The longtime prosecutor and his staff will be the stars of an upcoming CBS series called “Brooklyn D.A.”

In a press release obtained by The Daily News, CBS said the show follows “hard-charging prosecutors (with) larger-than-life personalities both inside the courtroom and out. They’re eccentric and living right on the edge.”

The six-part series is set to begin airing May 21, right in the middle of a tough re-election campaign for Hynes.

The district attorney’s two challengers, lawyers Kenneth Thompson and Abraham George, were angered to hear about the show, stating that Hynes should spend more time doing his job and less time worrying about getting on TV. But a spokesman for the six-term district attorney said the other candidates are just jealous.

“Jealousy is not a positive for political figures,” said campaign spokesman George Arzt.

The show will be produced by the team that created the CBS series “48 Hours.” Executive Producer Susan Zirinsky said the show is not about politics, but about law and justice, the News reported.

Police had been called about the anchor arrested for allegedly choking his wife before, according to news reports.

The Daily News reported that police had responded to several calls before about the spouses.

Rob Morrison, an anchor for CBS, is accused of assaulting his wife, fellow CBS anchor, Ashley Morrison in their Connecticut house.

The couple called the incident “greatly exaggerated.”

Morrison told the News his mother-in-law called the police.

“Don’t piss off your mother-in-law is the moral of the story,” he said.

A WCBS-TV news anchor was arrested on Sunday for allegedly choking his wife during an argument at their Connecticut home.

Rob Morrison was charged with strangulation, threatening and disorderly conduct, the New York Times reported. He was released on $100,000 bail and was scheduled to appear in Superior Court in Stamford, Conn. on Tuesday.

He and his wife, Ashley Morrison, a CBS MoneyWatch reporter, have released a statement saying they believe the charges are “greatly exaggerated.”

Police arrived at the couple’s home in Darien, Conn. early Sunday morning after receiving a call from Ashley Morrison’s mother. Police said it appeared that Morrison became aggressive during an argument and choked his wife with both hands.

Ashley Robinson was not treated for any injuries but had red marks on her neck from the choking.

A WCBS spokesperson said the network will not comment because it is a personal matter.
