Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie is married again.

After finalizing a divorce settlement with longtime wife, Christina Weiss Lurie, this past August, Lurie is once again off the market. The billionaire tied the knot with Philadelphia resident Tina Lai in a private ceremony this past weekend.

Christina Weiss Lurie is still part owner of the Eagles and remains very active in the organization, mostly in charity and community service initiatives. Lai will reportedly have no official role with the Eagles.

“I am happy and excited as Tina and I begin our lives together,” Lurie said in a statement.

Everyone’s favorite heavy metal couple, Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne, are reportedly well on their way to splitting up, according to Radar Online. And sadly, the long-married pair is said to be living separately already. While Ozzy is said to be living in a rented Beverly Hills mansion, Sharon has been staying at the Beverly Hills Hotel since at least the beginning of this month, sources say.

“They are living at different addresses and not spending any time together,” a source recently told the Sun. Sharon is believed to be staying at the famous hotel while she decorates a new home — but not the one where Ozzy is staying. The usually outspoken and press-friendly pair has been remarkably quiet about the reports of marital trouble.

I mean, what is it that put Sharon over the edge? She’s been with him since she was 18; she’s put up with him biting heads off of bats, dabbling in Satan worship, locking himself in hotel rooms to binge on drugs and alcohol for months at a time — you know, the usual marital complaints. If that didn’t break their marriage, what did?

The tabloids are speculating about Kris and Bruce Jenner: Are they headed for divorce? If so, then they would each eventually join the legions of people who have had to start over. Dating after a divorce can be challenging, whether you are in the public eye or not. Two simple rules of thumb can help you push forward into new romantic territory.

First, avoid comparing the person you are dating to your ex. While it is tempting to measure them for better or worse against  your former partner, the real goal is to focus on how they make you feel about yourself when you’re with them. Evaluating them based on how you felt about your ex rather than on who they are means  you will wind up either regretting what you lost or angry about what you missed out on all those years.

That will mire you in the negativity of your former marriage — keeping the pain and loss of divorce alive — instead of letting go and moving on with a new flame. Stay focused on building a new relationship and leave your past where it belongs — behind you.

Second, avoid bad-mouthing your ex —  especially to the person you are dating. This is a difficult one, because most people come away from divorce angry about what went wrong and wanting to talk about it. Be mindful about who you vent to: Blaming and criticizing could scare off your new partner. They could wonder what you might say about them if they did something to upset you. There are two sides to every story, so as much as possible try to present a balanced picture when you are speaking about your former marriage.

Whether you are famous or not, when dealing with the aftermath of divorce this old adage can be helpful: If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all. When you talk negatively, you keep bad feelings alive. When you talk positively, you put them to rest. The ultimate goal is to get on with your new life in a better place for what you gained from your old one.

Keep these rules in mind and you will be equipped to leave the past in its place and move on with your exciting new dating life.

Hollywood couple Diane Lane and Josh Brolin are divorcing after more than eight years, their representatives said on Thursday.

“I can confirm Diane Lane and Josh Brolin have decided to end their marriage,” said Lane’s spokeswoman, Kelly Bush.

A source close to the couple termed the split as “amicable” and said it was a mutual decision.

The divorce will be the second for both Lane and Brolin. They have no children together.

Lane, 48, who was Oscar-nominated for her role in the 2002 film “Unfaithful,” and Brolin, 45, married in August 2004 after being introduced by Barbra Streisand, the actor’s stepmother through her marriage to James Brolin.

Josh Brolin played a lead role in last summer’s sci-fi comedy franchise “Men in Black 3″ and his most recent film appearance was the January release “Gangster Squad.”

Counselors and community members are reporting a rise in divorce in the Orthodox Jewish community, and some say Facebook is to blame.

But Baruch Herzfeld, a community liason between the Orthodox and ultra-Orthodox communities in Brooklyn, says “the technology is the excuse.”

“There is unhappiness, and Facebook presents options,” Herzfeld explained.

Hindie Klein, Director of Clinical Projects for Ohel Children’s Home and Family Services, also felt that social media can be “very seductive.”

Klein said that seeing what other people have and how they live can lead to comparisons that can and do contribute to divorce.

“Before, someone would get divorced and leave the community,” Herzfeld elaborated. “Now even if they move, you see them [on Facebook] and they take off their wig and they go to Miami and they are drinking a cocktail, and you ask yourself, why should I be in prison? Let me get out.”

Lani Santo works at Footsteps, an organization that helps men and women who want to leave the ultra-Orthodox community. Santo reported seeing an increase in the number of people leaving ultra-Orthodox communities and said “technology is a piece of that.”

“It used to be that they had to go to the library, sneak out and physically get to a place where they can find more information — and now you have technology at your fingertips, even in the Orthodox community,” Santo said.

She said the internet allows restless, questioning young people in the ultra-Orthodox community to see “groups of people that have lived successful lives outside of the community.”

How the community deals with divorce

Herzfeld brought up the fact that ultra-Orthodox Jewish women and men marry very young, and often don’t know each other very well beforehand, which Santo says contributes to why a lot of the women she works with choose to divorce and even leave the community entirely.

Fraidy Reiss is one of those women — on a few levels, in fact: Reiss is divorced and left her ultra-Orthodox community, but is also the daughter of divorced Orthodox Jewish parents, a rare experience for her generation.

“I was the only one I knew whose parents were divorced,” Reiss said. “It was like I had two heads because my parents were divorced, I was considered really just a freak.”

Reiss said she thinks it’s getting easier simply because it’s becoming more common.

“It’s hard to consider a certain group of people freaks when the group gets bigger and bigger,” she pointed out.

But Santo said it’s often still a struggle, and can be a scary one at that.

“The entire community will pool their resources to make sure whoever’s leaving doesn’t get custody of the children, whether it’s a man or a woman,” Santo said. “Things get incredibly ugly, it’s not a fair game that’s being played.”

Reiss knew about that first-hand: she said that when she attempted to divorce her husband and get custody of her two daughters, one rabbi threatened to kidnap her children, and another threatened to testify in court that she was an unfit mother.

It wasn’t only rabbis, however: her friends wanted to testify against her as well.

She doesn’t hold it against them. Having grown up in the community, she understands what motivates them.

“There’s a belief in that community that if you’re not religious, you’re unstable and not a fit mother,” Reiss explained. “They really believe the kids are not going to have a good life.”
Traditional Jewish divorces

There are actually laws that exist in traditional Jewish law that were “constructed for divorces to be able to happen,” noted Santo.

“In the Jewish community, divorce has never been as taboo as in, say, the Catholic community,” she added.

However, Reiss explained that under Jewish law, a woman can only request a divorce. Her husband has to grant it with a document called a ‘get.’

“What happens is that men realize this power that they have over their wives,” Reiss said, adding that men will often withhold the get while demanding money, property, custody, or freedom from alimony in exchange.

While the woman is without a get, she is an ‘agunah,’ Reiss explained, which means “chained woman,” and can’t remarry. Women face the possibility of being alone for the rest of their lives, Reiss said.

Reiss’ mother waited seven years for her get.

After Reiss’ own divorce, she refused to accept the get from her husband. The get is not valid unless it is either signed by the wife or by 100 rabbis, Reiss said.

She received several calls from rabbis for a few months, until they seemingly decided it was easier to round up 100 rabbis than deal with this stubborn woman.

Reiss’ mother stayed in the community despite her divorce; Reiss broke away. They’re now estranged, but Reiss said she wished she could have told her mother about her act of ‘get’ rebellion.

“Even though I’m sure she would complain to her friends and say how terrible I was being, I think some small part of her would have said, ‘yes, you go, Fraidy,’” Reiss said.

As I look back over my life in romance, I don’t feel I’ve ever had that,” he tells Esquire magazine. And while he doesn’t mention Wright by name, he does discuss their split. “When you get divorced, all the truths come out, you sit there and go, ‘What the f— was I doing? What was I doing believing that this person was invested in this way?’” he says. “Which is a fantastically strong humiliation in the best sense. Lindsay definitely seemed at ease and in high spirits as they enjoyed a low-key night.”

Becoming famous has made Kristen Stewart become afraid for her life, she admits in a new e-book called “Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner — In Their Own Words” compiled by Talia Soghomonian. “Nowadays it’s harder because everyone is on Facebook and everyone knows where you are all the time, and everyone’s twittering,” Stewart says. “Like I’m going to die because somebody is going to say where I am and somebody is going to kill me. Pitt and Jolie treated daughters Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne along with son Knox to pizza before letting them loose on a local toy store Jolie had visited before. “I wasn’t notified of their visit. I didn’t expect it. I didn’t even recognize them. I said ‘bonjour,’ like I do to all my clients and then I saw Brad Pitt,” an employee of Culture Kid tells the magazine. “Since Angelina was here with her son last year, the shop has moved — but they found us.”

Looks like John Mayer really was in the mood for some major change. After reportedly breaking up with Katy Perry following a few weeks of dating, the singer unveiled a new, shorter haircut, ditching the curly locks he’d been sporting for a while, according to Us Weekly. And while Mayer seems to be moving on, Perry is reportedly not taking the split very well. “She’s really upset about it,” a source says. “She is making it seem like it wasn’t serious with John, but she is hurt.”

Despite the mega-success of the “Twilight” film franchise, Kellan Lutz kind of misses the good old days. “My favorite moments were during the first movie, before any of this craze happened. The lawyer for Katie Holmes has reported that she and soon-to-be ex-husband Tom Cruise have reached a settlement in their divorce.

The details of that settlement are under wraps, though a statement released by the couple today makes it clear that their 6-year-old daughter, Suri, was the top priority.

“We are committed to working together as parents to accomplishing what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests,” the statement said, according to CNN. “We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents.”

The settlement comes just 10 days after news broke that Katie Holmes, 33, filed for divorce. There have been reports that the couple was divided over the 55-year-old Cruise’s Scientology beliefs and his desire to raise Suri in the church.
 
“We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life,” Holmes’ attorney Jonathan Wolfe said.

With Cruise in the news, the paps are suddenly interested in Nicole Kidman, his ex, again. They caught her having—gasp!—dinner with her husband, singer Keith Urban, at a Florida restaurant, according to Us Magazine. The 45-year-old divorced Cruise in 2001, after an 11 year marriage.

Victoria’s Secret Angel Miranda Kerr, wife of Orlando Bloom, knew she wanted to have their baby without drugs; she gave birth to son Flynn Christopher back in January. “I had made a decision that I wanted to do it [naturally],” she says in the August issue of Harper’s BAZAAR UK. “I had been watching all these baby bonding videos and [without an epidural], when the baby comes out it goes straight onto the breast. it was a long, arduous and difficult labour,” she continued, “but Orlando was with me the whole time supporting and guiding me through it. I could not have done it without him.”

The Bourne Realty? Jeremy Renner, star of the new “Bourne Legacy” film, has a side job flipping houses in Los Angeles, according to an interview in the new Esquire. He’s renovated more than 15 homes since 2002, reports the magazine, including a mansion he may be about to list for $25 million.  “I’m very lucky,” Renner told the magazine. “I could have pretty easily been driving a forklift.”

People magazine is reporting that Tom Cruise and his much-younger, yet less famous, wife Katie Holmes will be getting a divorce.

The couple share the most fashionable child in Hollywood, 6-year-old daughter Suri. Holmes reportedly filed for full custody of Suri.

“This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family,” Jonathan Wolfe, Holmes’ attorney, said. “Katie’s primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.”

TMZ reports the couple did sign a pre-nup before their 2006 nuptials at an Italian castle, which came after a whirlwind courtship that made headlines for Cruise’s bizarre proclamations of love for Holmes.

The rumor mill has been churning for years that the couple’s marriage was a sham from the start — a binding contract Holmes’ agreed upon for money in exchange for helping conceal Cruise’s alleged homosexuality.

Less than two weeks after being arrested for driving under the influence after hitting up the L.A. club scene, Amanda Bynes was back out partying — and behind the wheel, according to TMZ. The actress was spotted driving herself to the Chateau Marmont and nightclub Greystone Manor, where she was spotted texting behind the wheel before backing her car up onto a curb.

Jada Pinkett Smith isn’t bothered by the tabloid reports of trouble in her marriage to Will Smith — or at least she isn’t surprised by them. “Every year, one celebrity couple is under the microscope. This year, unluckily, it’s us. I almost want to say that we should have been expecting it,” she tells Gala magazine. “Will and I know the truth. We’re waiting peacefully for the storm to blow over.”

A 30-year-old man has been arrested for trespassing at Sean “Diddy” Combs’ New York-area mansion, where he reportedly ate the hip-hop mogul’s food and tried on some of his clothes, according to Hollyscoop. Quamine Taylor entered the vacant house through an unlocked basement door and was there for 24 hours before tripping an alarm. But when police and an alarm company representative showed up, Taylor was able to convince them he had permission to be there. It wasn’t until a caretaker arrived and called the police back that Taylor was arrested. Combs’ rep had no comment.

Eligible bachelor and NFL quarterback Tim Tebow has been linked to a number of famous women in the press, from Taylor Swift to Katy Perry, but he’s not bothered by the gossip. “It’s funny, because half the rumors, I’ve never even met the people,” he says in an interview with ‘Good Morning America.’ “I’m sure they would be lovely.”

In the April issue of Elle, Klum opens up about what it’s like to be at the center of such a publicized divorce. The supermodel describes the tumultuous decision to split that the couple of seven years recently made.   

“I feel like I’m in the eye of the tornado. It’s emotions inside of your body that are a tornado,” Klum says of her divorce in the Elle interview, according to the New York Post. ”

She adds, “And then the outside world doing all this craziness — with you wanting it or not wanting it — is another tornado. But as hard as it is, so is life. Sometimes I think a curveball just comes at you. Instead of something straight that you can catch, it hits you in the head from the side that you didn’t expect.”

While Klum initially kept mum about the split, Seal gave two interviews the day the couple announced their divorce. Klum explains why she has kept private until now, despite her soon-to-be ex husband’s decision to go public.

“He’s a grown man. I can’t tell him what to do and what not to do. It’s hard,” she says. “I’m a lioness. I have four cubs. I’m a mom. I want to take care of my kids and protect them. I don’t want to talk about them, or him, or me.”

While Klum finally agreed to an interview, it’s hardly a tell-all. She declines to give out any details about what happened leading up to the divorce that seemed to come out of nowhere, shocking the public.

“People don’t need to know who did what. I don’t want to talk positively or negatively about the ups and downs that we had,” Klum says.

“Every couple goes through things. Unfortunately, we’re in the public, so the highs are out there. But I don’t think it’s necessary—especially for our children—to have the lows being printed in magazines and talked about.”

Mother-daughter duo Francine Baras and Nicole Baras Feuer are hard at work, planning New York City’s very first divorce expo, slated for a March 31 debut at the Metropolitan Pavilion.

“There are bridal shows and things to help a bride get married, but then there’s nothing for when she gets divorced,” said Feuer. “There are a lot of people who are lost and confused.”

Feuer, 42, who is herself divorced, and works as a divorce and family mediator, and Baras, 70, a therapist, have pooled their combined expertise to curate “Start Over Smart,” an expo designed to help divorcees transition from spouses to singles.

Plastic surgeons, attorneys, therapists, and even wardrobe consultants from Macy’s will be on hand to help the thousands of attendees navigate the foreign future of singledom. There will also be divorce courses, including lessons in personal finance and life coach lessons from Cheryl Richardson, said Feuer.

“I basically created a wishlist of everything that I needed and I’m going to help others find it,” Feuer said. “Divorce can be horrible, but we’re going to give people all the tools they need.”

Tickets to the expo cost between $125 and $200 — and no, there won’t be a couple’s discount.

Valentine’s Day nuptials

Because you first have to get married in order to get divorced, Metro asked New York City Clerk Michael McSweeney for his guess on the number of couples that will tie the knot today at City Hall.

McSweeney said his office was aflutter yesterday with people applying for marriage licenses, excited to wed on the most romantic day of the year.

“Last year, we had close to 170 ceremonies,” McSweeney said, who said that number is much higher than a regular day. “Because it’s a Tuesday, it will probably be the same or maybe higher.” 

Manhattan leads the way in divorces

According to the state health department, more divorces occur in Manhattan than any other borough.

Of New York City’s 23,698 divorces in 2009, 10,375 were on the island. Brooklyn had the second most divorces with 5,394 and Queens had the third most with 4,683. Just 831 couples got divorced in Staten Island and only 2,415 couples split in the Bronx.

Still, the overall divorce rate in New York state in 2010, 2.8 per 1,000 people, is significantly lower than the national average, 3.6 per 1,000 people, according to the Centers for Disease Control.

The recently divorced actress was taken to a hospital Tuesday for issues related to substance abuse.

Her rep told TMZ, “Because of the stresses in her life right now, Demi has chosen to seek professional assistance to treat her exhaustion and improve her overall health. She looks forward to getting well and is grateful for the support of her family and friends.”

Typical PR jargon. Apparently every issue in Hollywood, whether it’s drugs, alcohol, or boy trouble is all credited to “exhaustion.” Can us normal folks use that excuse? ‘Sorry boss, I can’t come in to work today, I’m exhausted.’ We have a feeling that wouldn’t fly.

It’s sad to see her go down this road but we’re glad she’s getting the help she needs. You can do better than Ashton, Demi!

Demi Moore admits that her split from Ashton Kutcher has left her shaken and insecure. “What scares me is that I’m going to ultimately find out at the end of my life that I’m really not lovable, that I’m not worthy of being loved,” she tells Harper’s Bazaar in a candid interview, adding that she fears finding out “that there’s something fundamentally wrong with me and that I wasn’t wanted here in the first place.”

But Moore is moving forward, thanks to some profound advice. “Somebody wrote something to me that said, ‘Don’t let your wounds make you become someone you’re not.’ That’s really powerful. And not taking life too seriously,” she says.

Forget acting, can Demi write a self-help book? She is the new Oprah!

But they won’t be unexplained for long as —  wouldn’t you know it? — it just so happens Kris Jenner has a new book, “Kris Jenner: And All Things Kardashian,” to promote! The ladies of “The View” grilled Mama Kardashian yesterday, and whereas Jenner was very honest, she says she doesn’t know what her daughter will do with that $2 million dollar engagement ring. But we do, thanks to a quick chat with etiquette expert extraordinaire Lizzie Post, co-author of the new book “Emily Post’s Etiquette: 18th Edition.” And although “etiquette” and “Kardashian” go as well together as “Larry King” and “sex tape,” Post does have some good points. 

“That’s her ring to keep,” Post advises. “It’s legally hers and it’s up to her on what she decides to do with it. She did have a marriage. Just because it didn’t last very long doesn’t mean she didn’t follow through with her engagement.”

As for the news Kardashian is donating her millions of dollars worth of wedding gifts to charity, Post says that is wrong, wrong, wrong. “It’s totally inappropriate!” she laughs. “I know her heart is in the right place but the truth of the matter is, the intention behind a wedding gift isn’t to be donated — especially if she goes and gets the charity tax write-off for it — they are to be used for their life together. The appropriate thing is to return them to the person who gave it. And she should include a handwritten note.”

Post’s last piece of advice is that everyone (even big-headed gossip columnists) should be respectful.
 “Everyone should be very open-minded and respectful now,” says Post. “I don’t care who you are — having a marriage dissolve after that short of time is very painful.”

Lohan to go to jail

I feel like I’ve been writing about Lindsay Lohan for a thousand Kardashian marriages long (and, honestly, I probably have). The latest? The former starlet is going to jail for 30 days. After admitting to violating her probation for some DUI case or another, she will now have to report to jail by Nov. 9. After her release, she also must continue to do community service at the Los Angeles morgue and attend psychotherapy sessions, a judge announced at the hearing, per People magazine.

While Kim’s statement was

was a little less guarded: “I love my wife and am devastated to learn
she filed for divorce,” he said in a statement to E! News on Monday
evening. “I’m committed to this marriage and everything this covenant
represents. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to make it work.”

Kris and Kim are certainly not alone in their short-lived union. Plenty of celebrity spouses have called it quits in less time than it takes for most of us to redeem our Bed, Bath & Beyond coupons. Let’s take a stroll down memory lane and remind ourselves of all the celebrity marriages that lasted even less time than the 72-day wedded bliss of Kris and Kim.

Zsa Zsa Gabor takes the wedding cake for shortest celebrity marriage. She got her marriage with Felipe DeAlba annulled after less than a day. Turned out, she wasn’t officially divorced from her previous husband anyway. She decided not to remarry DeAlba, though, reportedly saying, “He bored me. He’s a playboy and I’m a hard working actress.”

Who can forget the drunken nuptials of Britney Spears and her childhood friend Jason Alexander? If there is any indication that a marriage will fail, it might be that the wedding happens at 5:30 a.m. in Vegas.  They were only married for 55 hours.

Now, we thought these two were a match made in heaven, but apparently Carmen Electra and Dennis Rodman had a different idea: Annulment after 9 days. We can’t begin to speculate what could have possibly gone wrong.

Eddie Murphy and producer Tracey Edmonds were all smiles at first, but it wasn’t long before their marriage came to an end. By not long, we mean 14 days. Hey, they gave it their best shot. We can’t imagine Eddie Murphy being anything less than the greatest husband ever.

Aren’t these two just the picture of domestic life? Erin Everly and Axel Rose tied the not, not once, but twice. It’s hard enough to imagine Axel Rose making that kind of commitment even one time — but he did, and the marriage lasted a whopping 26 days. The pair wed again later, staying married for nine months that time. The lesson here? Don’t marry a rockstar… and then don’t do it again.

Pamela Anderson is no stranger to short marriages, but darn it, we really thought it was the real thing when she married Kid Rock. After that beautiful wedding at sea, the couple called it quits about four months later. Pam, will you ever find love?

Amazingly, a marriage with Tom Green isn’t Drew Barrymore’s only embarrassing wedding flop. The actress spent 29 days married to Jeremy Thomas. She didn’t learn her lesson though, and later went through a divorce with Tom Green after about five months of marriage.

Unless you’ve spent the last day living under a rock, you probably heard that Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from hubby Kris Humphries.

While rumors started circulating weeks ago about the split, Kim made it official today, just 72 days after they tied the knot.

The couple will reportedly not seek an annulment and will cite “irreconcilable differences.”

Hollywood Life reported that Kim has had it up to here with Kris’ party lifestyle. ??Hollywoode Life, citing ‘reports’ says that Kim visited a top divorce lawyer after Kris spent multiple nights partying solo until the wee-hours of the morning in New York City. An unnamed source told Star magazine “he’s breaking Kim’s heart. Originally he was supposed to come to New York for a guys’ weekend, but at the last minute he switched it to Miami. I guess he thought that way they could drink and do whatever they wanted without Kim finding out.”

Once the story broke, the Internet was buzzing with the news. What most people were reacting to was how short the marriage was. 72 days! That’s just over two months. That’s about how long it took us to get through E!’s entire “Fairytale Wedding” special.

Only two months after “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding,” there are speculation about trouble in paradise.

Hollywood Life is reporting that Kim has had it up to here with Kris’ party lifestyle.

Hollywoode Life, citing ‘reports’ says that Kim visited a top divorce lawyer after Kris spent multiple nights partying solo until the wee-hours of the morning in New York City.

An unnamed source told Star magazine that “he’s breaking Kim’s heart. Originally he was supposed to come to New York for a guys’ weekend, but at the last minute he switched it to Miami. I guess he thought that way they could drink and do whatever they wanted without Kim finding out.”

Star even claims that Kris was partying like a single man and dancing with girls. Call us crazy, (or, since we’re talking Kardashians, call us krazy) but having a 26-year-old man dance with girls doesn’t stand as ground for a divorce, then again we’re not married. Plus, Humphries is technically unemployed with the NBA lockout, so he probably has the time to party hardy.

On the other hand, Life & Style magazine is claiming that the divorce is on the way because everyone in the Kardashian family hates Kris. Wow, hate’s a strong word.

Kris Jenner, aka momager, is said to play nice in front of cameras but behind closed doors, is in full support of a divorce.

Humphries and Kim are keeping mum about the rumors. For all we know they can be cuddled (kuddled?) up in their home laughing at all this.

Or, what’s even more likely is that this is all a publicity (and the Kardashians are not ones to shy away from the spotlight) stunt for the upcoming season of “Kourtney and Kim take New York,” set to air in just a few weeks.
