Brittney Griner recently came out as a lesbian. No surprise there.

She talks like a man. She has the stature of a man. And she dunks like a man. None of that is wrong or meant to be insensitive. That’s just how she comes across on appearances — and that’s a good thing for the game of basketball, and sports in general. We sincerely hope that Mark Cuban stays true to his boast and drafts her in the NBA Draft.

We only hope that this could lead to a bigger outing, maybe in the NFL.

Free agent safety Kerry Rhodes is attempting to squash rumors that he is a gay man playing in the NFL. Rhodes’ alleged longtime boyfriend and assistant Russell “Hollywood” Jackson has gone on record saying Rhodes was “like his wife.”

The gossip website MediaTakeOut has published pictures of the two seemingly enjoying a romantic vacation. Instead of embracing the moment, Rhodes has pulled a trick from Richard Nixon’s playbook. Deny, deny, deny.

“Photos have been circulating of my former assistant and I that have caused some rumors regarding my sexuality, and I wanted to address the situation … I am not gay,” Rhodes tells TMZ.com. “The shots were taken during a past vacation in a casual environment with my entire business team … I know a lot of people are recently talking about athletes struggling to come out to their fans right now, and I support them, as well as wish those individuals comfort.”

We don’t know anything about Rhodes’ sexuality. Until he utters the words, “I am gay,” we’ll have to accept his statement as truth. We just hope — if the rumors do turn out to be true — Rhodes will have the courage to stand up and forge a new trail for gay athletes everywhere.

Russell Crowe doesn’t have a great reputation for being the most cuddly of superstars (nor as a great singer, but that’s neither here nor there,) but to yell at a young Rebel Wilson? For shame, Russell. For shame.

On Tuesday night, Wilson went on “The Tonight Show” and told the amusing/sad tale of the time she tried to talk to Nicole Kidman and Russell Crowe at a restaurant and was totally shut down by Crowe. The backstory: Wilson, who is from Australia, won the Nicole Kidman Scholarship at the Australian Theatre for Young People. Some time later, Rebel was at a restaurant in Sydney and saw Kidman and Crowe dining. She wanted to thank Kidman for the scholarship but, well, we’ll let her recall that magical moment:

“One time in Sydney, I saw her having dinner with Russell Crowe and I go, ‘OK, now’s my chance. I’m going to say thank you. I went up to them but, before I could say anything, Russell Crowe turns to me and says, ‘Fuck off!’ I just put my head down and walked the other way. …. But thanks, Nicole!”

This makes me love Rebel even more. I just hope the two never star in a movie together — especially if that movie is “Pitch Perfect 2.”

Look. I know the members of Hanson are old and they have, like, 23 kids between them (even the baby drummer has procreated — twice.) I’ve interviewed them several times and the voice on the other end wasn’t prepubescent (they are also supersensitive to people thinking they are teenagers, something I learned the hard way when I squealed, “You are so grown up!” to them.) I’ve even listened to their later albums. What I’m saying is: I KNOW THEY ARE OLD AND CAPABLE OF PARTYING. But when I read on E! News that Kristen Stewart decided to celebrate her 23rd birthday by crashing a record release party for the band at L.A. nightspot No Vacancy, my first thought was, “What is KStew doing with a bunch of 8-year-olds?” Apparently, if you broke out as a little person, I will always consider you a little person (don’t get me started on Lil’ Bow Wow.) Anyway, according to E!, the birthday girl arrived around 11 p.m. with Robert Pattinson and about 10 friends in tow, though it was unclear if they knew ahead of time about the band’s party. “They weren’t overly affectionate or anything, but at points they were standing together as they talked to friends,” a source says of Stewart and Pattinson. And then Hanson played pin-the-tail on the donkey, ate confetti cake and all three had temper tantrums when they were told it was bedtime. (I’m so sorry, Hanson. Next interview we do together, impress me with your 401K plan and maybe I’ll wrap my head around the fact of your aging.)

The drama between Rihanna and Chris Brown continues
Reports that Rihanna and Chris Brown have broken up might not exactly be accurate, but that doesn’t mean the couple is happy, according to Us Weekly. A source tells the magazine that while the pair hasn’t actually split up, they are fighting all the time. “Every second it’s a blow-up and then full-on in love,” the source says. “She’s touring and working her ass off, and he’s working his off in the studio,” and those busy schedules are adding to the stress. Rihanna is even using work to vent some of her frustrations, asking an audience at an L.A. concert this week, “How many of you are in love? How many of you hate love? How many of you don’t f—ing understand it? I’m in that group. The confused group.”

Madonna continues fight with Malawi president
Madonna’s ongoing feud with Malawi President Joyce Banda isn’t getting any better, with Banda now blasting the singer for reportedly demanding expedited travel privileges for herself and her entourage for a recent visit to the country, according to Yahoo! News. “Granted, Madonna is a famed international musician,” Banda says in a statement. “But that does not impose an injunction of obligation on any government under whose territory Madonna finds herself, including Malawi, to give her state treatment. Such treatment, even if she deserved it, is discretionary, not obligatory.” Madonna and company instead had to queue up with regular passengers and were reportedly frisked before being allowed through security.

Ben Affleck: Mr. Mom
It’s Jennifer Garner’s turn to go to work, which means husband Ben Affleck will be staying home with the kids, the “Argo” director reveals, according to Us Weekly. “She’s got a couple of movies coming up. There’s going to be a little Mr. Mom action and I’m going to get back in the ring,” Affleck says. “She told me to go to the gym, I’m preparing myself. I’m going to take on some more of the burden.”

The soap opera between Chris Brown and Rihanna continues: The on-again, off-again couple with the rocky past has reportedly called it quits, according to E! News. While Brown has been spotted in New York entertaining a mystery blonde, Rihanna has finishing up her latest international tour and spending time in L.A. between gigs, but sources say there’s no new man in her life and that she’s shifting her focus off her love life and onto planning future tours and launching a new fragrance line.

Berry: ‘feels fantastic’
After confirming that she is pregnant with her second child, Halle Berry is speaking out herself about the joyous news. “I feel fantastic,” the Oscar-winner tells CNN of expecting a baby with fiancé Olivier Martinez. “This has been the biggest surprise of my life, to tell you the truth. I thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it’s been a big surprise and the most wonderful.” While reports have claimed that Berry is expecting a boy, she’s playing coy about gender, saying only, “I don’t know, I don’t know.”

Drake takes on Bieber’s fans
Former “Drake & Josh” star Drake Bell is picking a fight with Justin Bieber’s fans online, which may not be the smartest move. “I don’t ‘hate’ Justin Bieber. His fans are the problem,” Bell tweeted last month, but this past weekend he really got into it. “I love when beliebers say they loved me on ['Drake & Josh'] but what happened to the old Drake,” he wrote. “[Bieber], you have the most insane fans in the world.” He also poked fun at Bieber himself, and the stunt inevitably earned him a slew of angry responses. “Putting a moratorium on tweets about beliebers,” he finally wrote. “Just wanted to show how sick and twisted people can get.”

Don’t mess with the ‘A-Team’
Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper are suing a pair of companies for allegedly using photos of the “A-Team” co-stars in advertisements without their permission, according to court documents procured by E! News. Neeson and Cooper claim Vutec Corporations and First Impressions Theme Theaters are guilty of trademark infringement, negligence and  violating their rights of privacy and publicity for using their images in print and online ads and in other promotional materials. The suit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court. The actors are seeking damages and attorney fees.

Bynes on her ‘fake’ stories
Amanda Bynes takes issue with Page Six’s story earlier this week that she her erratic behavior during a gymnastics class got her booted. “I’m suing every blog saying I was kicked out of gymnastics,” Bynes posted on Twitter. What is wrong with you people? What would you do if you found fake stories about you?” Also, to make good on her earlier request that online outlets only use photos from her Twitter account and not unflattering paparazzi shots when reporting on her, Bynes posted a slew of photos from the last few years to Twitter, nothing which ones are her favorites.

Amanda Bynes’ recent campaign of bizarre behavior during her stay in New York is continuing unabated, with the former Nickelodeon star reportedly shocking attendees at a gymnastic class by showing up “in fishnets and a leotard that looked like lingerie,” according to Page Six. “She immediately started acting strangely,” a source says. “She lined up with the other gymnasts, and each took their turn to perform a roll. But Amanda just walked out on the mat, was spinning around in circles and mumbling to herself.” Later, the source adds, Bynes “did a cartwheel, but her wig fell off, and she sat down and cried.” The source reveals that Bynes wasn’t long for this particular gymnastics class: “She went two weeks in a row, but the second time she was escorted out. Staff were concerned about her manner and worried she might be a hazard to other people in the class.”

Lindsay Lohan infamously scheduled her upcoming 90-day rehab stint to start next month so that she can hit up the Coachella music festival starting this weekend, but at least one friend thinks she should skip it. “I fear for her life if she goes to the festival,” Danish promoter Claus Hjelmbak tells Radar Online. “Lindsay is in a very dark place right now, and I’m absolutely scared for her life. Coachella is the last place she needs to be. For someone struggling with addiction, like Lindsay, the amount of drugs and alcohol at Coachella is just a recipe for disaster waiting to happen.” The music festival takes place over two weekends in the desert near Palm Springs, with a packed schedule of famous bands set to perform, including the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Moby and Airborne Toxic Event.

Jay-Z and Beyonce Knowles may be in hot water for their lavish fifth wedding anniversary trip to Cuba last week, as it’s raising eyebrows with a few Florida politicians, according to Reuters. “Despite the clear prohibition against tourism in Cuba [for U.S. citizens], numerous press reports described the couple’s trip as tourism, and the Castro regime touted it as such in its propaganda,” Florida Reps. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mara Dias-Balart say in a letter to the director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control. “We represent a community of many who have been deeply and personally harmed by the Castro regime’s atrocities, including former political prisoners and families of murdered innocents.” A rep for Jay-Z and Beyonce was unavailable for comment.

Drew Barrymore is learning a lot now that she’s a mom. “I know it seems like I do everything, but there’s so much I had to give up. Things have to go and that’s unfortunate,” she tells Us Weekly. “You know that you’re going to miss out on your child’s upbringing or you realize that your relationship is going to suffer if you work night and day and weekends. Unfortunately, I was raised in this, like, generation of like, ‘Women can have it all,’ and I don’t think you can. I think some things fall off the table. The good news is, what does stay on the table becomes much more important.”

“American Idol” vet Adam Lambert is single again, having split up with boyfriend and Finnish “Big Brother” winner Sauli Koskinen, Lambert tells the South Florida Gay News. “It’s been kind of on its way out in the last couple of months,” Lambert says. “Sauli and I remain really good friends, and I know it’s a cliché to say, but it’s totally true. I just gave him a coffee and bagel earlier today. He’s a great person and we’ve had an amazing couple of years together. Things have just run their course.”

It’s been a week of shake-ups for the cast of “Glee.” First, it was announced that main cast member Cory Monteith was admitted to rehab on Monday morning for a substance abuse problem and now it looks like Heather Morris, who portrays the ditzy cheerleader Brittany on the hit show, is pregnant. Us Weekly broke the news that the 26-year-old is expecting a baby with her longtime boyfriend Taylor Hubbell. “She’s a little more than three months along and starting to show,” the source tells Us Weekly. “It was totally unexpected, but they are incredibly happy and excited.” Keep her off the dance numbers, “Glee”!

LaBeouf and Baldwin: Not buds
Shia LaBeouf is looking to put the turmoil that drove him out of his Broadway debut in “Orphans” behind him, but he’s not afraid to admit that he and co-star Alec Baldwin definitely had issues. “I’m pretty passionate and impulsive, and he’s a very passionate individual as well, and I think that impulsiveness and passion make for some fireworks,” LaBeouf tells David Letterman during a visit to his talk show, adding that he and Baldwin “had tension, as men. Not as artists, but as men. In a room, that became hard to deal with.” Meanwhile, in an interview with MTV for his new film, LaBeouf says that the public has the wrong perception. “I feel like there’s a misconception of me being this angry little elf. I’m not, I’m really not,” he tells the site. You know, I used to think Wallace Shawn was Hollywood’s “angry little elf” but now that LaBeouf mentions it, he totally is.

Mrs. Carter: ‘A modern-day feminist’
Beyonce has heard what her critics have to say — particularly about her decision to name her new tour the Mrs. Carter Show — and she’s just going to ignore them. “I guess I am a modern-day feminist,” she muses to British Vogue. “Why do you have to choose what type of woman you are? Why do you have to label yourself anything? I’m just a woman, and I love being a woman.” As for taking husband Jay-Z’s last name for her tour? “I feel like Mrs. Carter is who I am, but more bold and more fearless than I’ve ever been,” she says. “It comes from knowing my purpose and really meeting myself once I saw my child. I was like, ‘OK, this is what you were born to do. The purpose of my body became completely different.”

Beckham’s desire as a father
Despite being possibly the most famous man in the world, David Beckham is desperate for his four kids to have a normal a life as possible — even though that can be pretty tricky sometimes. “My eldest now is at the age where he wants to do things and go to places, and we have to hold him back,” Beckham tells CNN World Sport about 14-year-old Brooklyn. “You have to explain to him that there are certain things he can’t do. But to be honest, we let our children do 99 percent of the things they want to do because we want them to lead a normal life.

Bynes keeps getting crazier
If Amanda Bynes couldn’t get any crazier, she now claims there’s a redheaded woman running around New York pretending to be her. “My hair is blonde. I’ve never been a redhead! Somebody keeps posing as me! Check my photos and Twitter for up-to-date pictures,” Bynes posted to her Twitter account Tuesday night. “I don’t own those clothes and I’m blonde.” If it’s an imposter, she’s put a lot of work into it. Not only does the woman in the photos look exactly like Bynes, but she has the same cheek piercings and the manicure Bynes has been sporting recently. To add to the confusion, Bynes quickly deleted the tweets insisting she’s being impersonated.

Brown calls Bieber ‘wack,’ mentions ‘little black boys’
Chris Brown feels Justin Bieber’s pain. When asked during an interview with radio station Power 105.1 how he copes with paparazzi attention, Brown says, “It’s sort of like what Justin Bieber’s going though right now. With him, it’s just a cause of how I feel. Being young, having a limitless amount of income, whatever you want to do as a young guy, and then at the same time you don’t have nobody that’s going to say, ‘Hey bro, you look wack right now.’” Brown is particularly worried Bieber’s friends — like rapper Lil Twist — will get an undue amount of blame for any of the Canadian pop star’s troubles. “I just feel like they’re going to target the little black boys around him and say, ‘Hey, so this is why he’s doing it,’” Brown says.

Oh man. This is not good. I mean, in the spectrum of not good things, this ranks pretty much at the top: Lamar Odom and wife Khloe Kardashian’s charity for kids with cancer looks like a scam. That’s right: They are fleecing kids with cancer. The only thing worse than scamming kids with cancer? Scamming kids with AIDS. That’s it. There’s nothing worse. (OK, maybe scamming orphans with AIDS and/or cancer, but that’s really it.)

A new report by ESPN (and this marks the first time ESPN has been mentioned in this column) says Odom’s charity, Cathy’s Kids, which started in 2004 in honor of Odom’s mother who died from stomach cancer, has raised $2.2 million, but not one cent has gone to cancer-related causes. Instead, it seems like the money has gone to two things: the charity’s “executive,” Jerry DeGregorio, who happened to be the best man in Kardashian’s and Odom’s wedding, and two elite youth basketball travel teams. It’s important to note that none of the kids in that elite basketball team seems to be battling cancer in between traveling to games.

When approached by ESPN, Odom brushed off the allegations with, “It’s my money.”

Actually, if you raise $2.2 million by having people donate their cash to help children with cancer, it’s not your money. I swear. Do I have to go to Hollywood myself to teach these people how to act?

Lohan in Brazil and jokes that she is pregnant
Lindsay Lohan made a very last-minute decision to continue her adventures in Brazil this week, making her way to the São Paulo airport for a flight back to New York only to opt out of getting on the plane, according to E! News. While her manager took the flight as planned, Lohan reportedly checked herself into the Emiliano Hotel with a female friend. “She’s staying on her own dime,” a source say. “She is staying against everyone’s advice.” Lohan’s promotional trip to Brazil for a denim company was to be followed by a quick trip to NYC before heading to L.A. for the Coachella Music Festival and then 90 days of court-ordered rehab. The extended vacation also gave Lohan a chance to get in on the fun of pulling an April Fools’ Day prank on her Twitter followers, posting, “It’s official. Pregnant…” and drawing a flood of shocked reactions. Maybe some of her fans didn’t realize it was a joke because, on the East Coast at least, it was no longer April 1 when the tweet went up. You know, despite everything, I used to like Lohan, but doing an April Fools’ Day joke that reached its pinnacle in 2009 on my Facebook timeline? Unforgivable.

Mayer zips his lips (for once)
John Mayer seems to have turned over a new leaf when it comes to dishing on ex-girlfriends, as in a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres when he did not rise to her attempts to discuss his recent split from Katy Perry. “It was a very private relationship going in, it was a private relationship during and it’s a private relationship still,” Mayer said. “I can understand asking the question based on some previous answers I have given, but I have finally learned how to put the wall between one thing and the other.” The best DeGeneres could glean from the singer was a rather vague, “I’m on the same journey as everyone else. Coupling is a tricky thing.”

Bieber’s friends love a good time — on his dime
It turns out Justin Bieber doesn’t even have to be home to show his friends a good time. According to E! News, about four male pals have been crashing at Bieber’s L.A. home and throwing some pretty raucous parties in his absence. “The music is loud and everything, but where it is, the homes are so spread apart and so big, so I don’t know how they would be able to hear,” a source says. “They probably complain because when people come up, there are like 20 cars. That was a crazy party. We were just drinking and doing our thing.” The houseguests living it up while Bieber continues his European tour include rappers Lil Twist and King Kevi. And from what the source says, the house sounds like a teenager’s dream: “Right when you open the front door, there is an arcade room, basketball machines, a couple Pac-Mans, ping-pong table,” the source says.

Berry and Martinez in paparazzi fight
Halle Berry and fiance Olivier Martinez had a pretty rough homecoming after their Hawaiian vacation when Martinez got into a bit of a scuffle with paparazzi outside LAX, according to TMZ. Martinez allegedly kicked a photographer in the leg and wrist as he, Berry and Berry’s daughter, Nahla attempted to exit the airport, with Berry reportedly imploring the swarm of shutterbugs, “Get away, there’s a child.” Once Nahla was safely in their waiting SUV, Martinez reportedly stormed back to kick the photographer again before being pulled away by Berry.

Justin Bieber just can’t catch a break. Heading into Germany for the next leg of his European tour, the Canadian pop star was hit with an unsettling surprise when his prized Capuchin monkey was seized by German customs officials after he tried to bring the animal into the country without permission, according to People magazine. “Justin Biebr brought his monkey to Germany but had no official paperwork for him,” a customs spokesman says. “We were forced to confiscate the animal.”

Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard welcomed a baby girl late last week, the first child for the couple. “Lincoln Bell Shepard is here,” Shepard posted to Twitter. “She has Mom’s beauty and Dad’s obsession with breasts. Hooray!” Not to be outdone, Bell also took to Twitter to jokingly celebrate the birth, posting, “My new roommate poops her pants and doesn’t pay rent. Basically Dax Shepard pre-sobriety. Welcome baby Lincoln.”

“Avengers” star Jeremy Renner and an ex-girlfriend welcomed the birth of daughter Ava Berlin Renner, according to Us Weekly. “They are beyond thrilled,” a rep for Renner says in a statement. “Mother and daughter are doing great.” Though the parents are no longer together, Renner had made a point of putting the mother-to-be up in his Los Angeles home as she awaited the birth. “They used to date but it wasn’t serious,” a source says, adding that Renner was “being ultra-secretive about it, but she has been going on about her life and not hiding it.”

What’s the worst insult a young actress can endure? This might be it. “Les Miserables” star Amanda Seyfried was mistaken at LAX for her “Mean Girls” co-star Lindsay Lohan. “I just got mistaken for a Ms. Lohan at Newark Airport,” Seyfried posted to Twitter. It’s probably not a comparison Seyfried welcomes, considering her previous comments about Lohan: “Lindsay was great on ‘Mean Girls.’ I think that was before she got a little nuts,” Seyfried previously told Teen Vogue. “I kind of don’t expect some of these girls, who’ve been working since they were 2, to be sane.”

Wendy Williams opens the door to her dressing room wearing fuzzy green frog slippers. On the wall are caricatures of the talk show host, plus a print of her PETA ad, for which she went nude. She takes a seat on her couch, which is adorned with a plush pink throw pillow and is underneath a giant sequined pink marlin. Despite the girliness of the room, Williams — hanging loose post-show in a wavy blonde wig (think Beyonce at the Super Bowl) — has a serious business side to her. It’s to be expected from the mogul, whose show has been renewed through 2014 on FOX and is airing new episodes in June and July (most daytime talk shows go on a summer hiatus).

But all of this television success was never the original plan for Williams, who built her career in radio.

“I always thought I’d stay on radio because I was good at radio,” Williams says. “And at the time that this talk show came along I had 23 years in radio, was making a terrific salary, I was able to live the life that I never thought I’d live, and I was comfortable with that. It was my dream. Growing up in Jersey, I wanted to be a news broadcaster or I wanted to be a radio personality, and when I got to college my freshman year I was reading the news for the college radio station and the DJ was sick one night and they asked me to fill in. I was like ‘Well I’m not this cool,’ and I’m gonna stick with the news items — it was more who I was raised to be, with a sensible haircut and short non-painted nails.”

But the life of a newscaster, Williams soon discovered, wasn’t what she wanted. “You’ve got to live a newscaster’s lifestyle,” she says. “You’ve got to be married to the right guy — not the right guy for you but also the right guy for public perception  — you’ve got to have the right hairstyle, your nails have got to be a particular length, you cannot be seen having fun. That’s not fair, but it’s the way newscasting is, so I said I’m gonna go with this radio thing. Once I got on the radio I was sideswiped by it and I never looked back.”

Williams attributes the success of her show to her producing staff and also her TMI personality. “One of the fatal flaws of my personality that my parents would attest to is, ‘You’ve given too much information. Everybody didn’t need to know that Aunt Florence is wearing a wig and she’s in the bathroom readjusting,’” she says. “I think people feel comfortable with people that they get to know long enough.”

When she’s not working on her show, Williams has other projects on her brain, like her forthcoming “Ask Wendy” book (her sixth) based on a popular advice segment from the show, and also her upcoming wig line, Wendy Williams Hair World, which debuts in June. Williams has been wearing wigs for the past 12 years, after being was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. She says her new line will have “everything respectful that wiggies want and that newbies can get used to” and that she’s out to disprove the idea that wigs are “old and tired and ridiculous.” “You don’t necessarily expect a fly girl looking at 50 — that’d be me — wearing a wig,” she says.

Williams will debut her wigs on air when they become available this spring. At that point, her goal for the show will be the same as it is now, as it always has been: to make her guests comfortable.

“When people walk through the double doors and you see my whole colorful crowd …it can take you back, even as a trained actor. And then you’re being hugged by a 6-foot-5 black woman with a lot of hair and a lot of boob — it’s a lot! So my producers [do pre-interviews and] give me all I need to know, and then I go out there and make people feel as warm as I possibly can, because the goal of me as a host is to keep you coming back for more.”

Lindsay Lohan got some good legal news for once late last week, learning that she will not be facing any charges related to her arrest following a November nightclub brawl in New York City, according to E! News. The Manhattan District Attorney is reportedly dismissing the case altogether because witnesses close to the plaintiff, professional psychic Tiffany Mitchell, were uncooperative and surveillance footage of the fight was inconclusive. “Tiffany is very disappointed that the District Attorney has not decided to prosecute Lindsay,” Mitchell’s attorney, Gloria Allred says.

Amanda Bynes‘ family is reportedly very concerned about the troubled actress and wants her to move back to Los Angeles where they can keep a better eye on her, according to E! News. The accident-prone starlet has been living it up in New York, tweeting pictures of her outlandish recent makeover and a new cheek piercing along with bizarre and nonsensical declarations like “Baby corn and fried tofu,” “Fear is pain arising from the anticipation of evil” and “I created the phrase lly and lololol.” Bynes has reportedly refused her family’s requests that she move back to L.A.

Matthew McConaughey is sticking by buddy and disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong following Armstrong’s confession to doping. “He told a lie, he’s not a liar,” McConaughey tells Details magazine. “When it came out, I took it personally, but then I realized it ain’t personal to him. I was going, ‘That son of a bitch!’ but then I thought, ‘Well, what was he supposed to do? Call me to the side and go, ‘Hey, I did this’? Nothing makes me feel older than writing about Taylor Swift’s love life, but here goes: The singer has reportedly set her sights on pro surfer John John Florence, according to Life & Style. The magazine reports that their budding relationship is still mostly on a telecommunications level.

“He and Taylor have been text-messaging,” a source says. “Apparently she contacted him. I don’t think they have hung out yet. They’ve just been chatting. John John doesn’t want to ruin things, so he’s being careful not to say too much.” He’s apparently taking that job very seriously. When asked by an Australian TV reporter earlier this month about “a little bit of something” she had heard about him and Swift, Florence responded, “It’s kind of a secret thing going on right now. Can’t bust it out in the public just yet.”
So what do we know about John John? He’s 20, from Hawaii and, according to Internet lore, started surfing with his father at 6 months and was riding on his own by 3. Judging from his photos, I wouldn’t mind if Swift kept this up — we need more hunky surfers in The Word.

Lindsay Lohan was, naturally, late to her latest court appearance yesterday in L.A. She was apparently scared to fly alone. Thankfully, an energy drink company by the name of Mr. Pink hooked her up on the company’s private jet, The Atlantic Wire reported. Upon her arrival at the courthouse, someone threw glitter on the star, kind of like how people throw rice on brides as they exit the church — but we have a feeling this wasn’t as celebratory an occasion.

“Twilight” creator Stephenie Meyer admits she feels some guilt for the circus the lives of stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have become. “If they had the choice, I’ve no idea if they’d even do ‘Twilight’ again. I just don’t know. I think this has all come at a heavy price,” Meyer tells Britain’s the Times magazine. “I just don’t think they enjoy the parts [of fame] that other people would. Lil Wayne is not going to die, just drank too much sizzurp
Things looked pretty dark for Lil Wayne on Friday: TMZ reported that the “Lollipop” rapper was in a coma and and being read his last rites at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. after suffering multiple seizures. But don’t worry! “TMZ was so off base,” a source close to the star tells Us Weekly. “Wayne is fine.” The rapper took to Twitter a few hours after TMZ’s report to confirm his well-being: “I’m good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love.” His rep also told Us Weekly that “Wayne is doing well.”
Ah yes, it was all a misunderstanding. Wayne was “just coming down off the high” from sizzurp, the source says, and that he’s “not close to death or anything.”
Sizzurp, for those not well-versed in recreational drugs, is “a highly addictive, narcotic concoction of prescription-strength cough syrup, sugary sodas and hard candies, typically sipped out of Styrofoam cups,” the drug barons at Us Weekly explain. The cough syrups contain codeine and promethazine, which leads to what the mag calls a “sleepy high.” The kids these days enjoy it because it’s cheap and easy to make, Us says.
Hey, at least Wayne is honest: If we have to hear another report of a star being treated for “exhaustion,” we’re going to lose it.

Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough have split after more than two years together, People.com reported on Friday. Sources close to the couple said their busy work schedules contributed, but that they’ll remain friends (because that’s what everyone says at first). The duo — he’s 38, she’s 24 — lived together and were often seen jet-setting around the world, from Italy to St. Barts to Paris. On Saturday, in a classic “let’s make him jealous” move, Hough tweeted a photo of herself laughing with friends at the beach, with the hashtag “#friendsarethebesttherapy.”

Morrissey has been forced to cancel the remaining dates on his current North American tour due to a “series of medical mishaps,” a rep for the singer announced. “Despite his best efforts to try to continue touring, Morrissey has to take a hiatus and will not be able to continue on the rest of the tour,” the statement reads. So far this year, those mishaps have included a bleeding ulcer that prompted Morrissey to postpone three concerts and a bout of double pneumonia earlier this month that caused the cancelation of another. The singer is also reportedly suffering from a condition in his esophagus linked to long-term acid reflux.

It hasn’t been a good month so far for Justin Bieber. Fresh off the heels of a breakup with Selena Gomez, the 19-year-old superstar has cancelled gigs (when he even arrives at all), threatened to “f—ing beat the f—” out of a paparazzo in London, mourned his pet hamster and been treated with oxygen at the hospital. Could a drug-fueled downward spiral a la Lindsay Lohan be far behind? Not if the Biebs has anything to say about it.
“Everyone in my team has been telling me ‘keep the press happy,’ but I’m tired of all the countless lies in the press right now,” the pop superstar wrote on Instagram. “Saying I’m going to rehab and how my family is disappointed in me. My family is beyond proud, and nothing’s been said by them. My grandparents wouldn’t know how to reach [the] press … If anyone believes I need rehab that’s their own stupidity LOL.”
He then took a jab at all the haters who want to compare him to the famous red-headed trainwreck, but deleted it quickly thereafter.

I’m guessing that you meant to say that you made a lot more money than her, but I’m interested in seeing if she writes her drug expenses off as charity, because she in a way kind of is giving to those in need — mainly, gossipmongers like myself on the hunt for daily content. World erupts into state of panic as Nicki Minaj is late to “Idol”
Nicki Minaj was nowhere to be seen as “American Idol” went to air Wednesday night. Indeed, the rapper was 13 minutes late to the judges’ table for Wednesday’s live show because she got stuck in traffic, per People.com. She even missed the first performance of the evening before quieting slipping inside in a black hoodie and dark shades.
This is the first time this has happened in “Idol” history, which, when you think about it, is pretty miraculous, considering wackadoodles like Paula Abdul and Steven Tyler, plus the divalicious Jennifer Lopez, have sat on the panel in years past. Ryan Seacrest must run a tight ship — who knows how Brian Dunkleman would have fared in a situation like this. You don’t remember the Dunks? Google him!

Oh, how the mighty have fallen
In other “Idol” news, Sanjaya Malakar, best remembered for that peacock-style mohawk he graced us with as a contestant in 2007, doesn’t seem to be doing so hot post-show. The still-aspiring singer was seen busking on the subway this week, according to In Touch Weekly. “He was singing ‘(Sittin’ on) the Dock of the Bay,’” a witness told the magazine after spotting the 23-year-old in the First Avenue L station in Manhattan. “A handful of people did double takes,” the witness added. Apparently the show wasn’t all that bad, as the source told In Touch, “The guy’s still a decent singer!”
It’s great to see “Idol” castoffs keeping their hopes alive. Sanjaya, if you get tired of the subways, I bet the singing waiters at Johnny Rockets would give you a warm welcome into their fraternity.

The breakup rumors about Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth are reaching a fever pitch, with the New York Post claiming that the couple’s engagement is officially off. “Miley and Liam are done — it’s over,” a source tells the newspaper. “She likes to party really hard and can be pretty wild. It became a problem for him.” But Cyrus is reportedly still holding out hope of a reconciliation. “They do fight, but she is crazy about Liam,” another source says, adding that Cyrus “isn’t ready to accept it might be over for good.”

Gwynnie’s kids go hungry
Gwyneth Paltrow is discovering that getting her family on a new low-carb, gluten-free diet isn’t exactly a painless endeavor. “Sometimes when my family is not eating pasta, bread or processed grains like white rice, we’re left with that specific hunger that comes with avoiding carbs,” she says in her new cookbook. But the pain is worth it, she insists. “Every single nutritionist, doctor and health-conscious person I have ever come across … seems to concur that [gluten] is tough on the system and many of us are at best intolerant of it and at worst allergic to it,” she writes.

Anna Kendrick has reportedly ended her four-year relationship with her “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” director, Edgar Wright, according to Us Weekly. “She’s single,” a source says. “It was done a little while ago.” In her new life as a single gal, Kendrick has been ruminating about what life would be like on reality TV. “If I were a contestant on ‘the Bachelor,’ I’d just end up falling in love with the weird sound guy and making things uncomfortable for everyone,” she joked recently on Twitter. “To all the people joking about becoming sound guys, you should also know they put mics in actresses’ cleavage and packs on [their] inner thighs. Terrible London traffic has driven Spice Girl Geri Halliwell underground, as the singer ventured onto public transportation for the first time in nearly two decades this week. “Forgive me for being a brat,” she tweeted about the experience. “After 17 years and yesterday’s two hours of traffic, let’s save time and money — the tube!” Halliwell also posted photos of herself on the platform and train. Her final judgment on the experience? “Not so bad!”

Mirren’s pup in the doghouse
Helen Mirren has been having trouble with one of her canine co-stars in her new West End play, “the Audience,” leading to 7-year-old corgi Lizzy getting the axe, according to the Telegraph. The dog, who appeared as one of Queen Elizabeth’s pets in the play, failed to hit her cues on 16 separate occasions before producers decided to replace her. “She was excited the first three times,” director Stephen Daldry tells the newspaper. “And then I think she decided she didn’t want to be an actress anymore. She decided to retire from the British stage.”

In the new In Touch Weekly, “Dance Moms” star Abby Lee Miller swears she’s not the monster she’s portrayed to be on TV, despite this terrifying “Black Swan”-esque picture to the contrary.
“I’m a schoolgirl at heart,” says the Pittsburgh native. “There’s still an innocence to me. I’ve done a lot of nice things for my girls. I take them to dinners, to movies, to Broadway shows. Lady Gaga recovers from surgery with a custom gold wheelchair because really, why not?
Did you really expect Lady Gaga to recuperate from her recent hip surgery in a boring wheelchair fit for plebeians? After all, this is Mother Monster, a woman who enjoys wearing Kermit the Frog puppets. So, she enlisted the help of designer Ken Borochov to create a custom 24-karat gold wheelchair, according to E! News. The chair features a leather seat that reclines (because all that time in a wheelchair is certainly exhausting), stylin’ spokes (in case she wants to go for a spin down the L.A. Freeway) and a canopy (too much sunlight is never good for a Lady of her stature).
“I certainly wasn’t expecting that phone call and have never done a wheelchair, but am always up for a challenge and was thrilled to create what I affectionately dubbed the Chariot, a chair fit only for a queen,” the designer said in a statement.
We hope Gaga donates her wheelchair to the local old folks’ home when she’s done with it. Lord knows Betty Ann in 3C could use a little sunshine in her life.

Kim Kardashian: Once more, with feeling
If you saw the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” episode when Kris Humphries proposed to Kim and thought to yourself, “My, what a perfect proposal,” know that it was all for the cameras. Apparently getting divorced was the best thing to happen to Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, at least according to director Adam Shankman, who is friends with both. Shankman tells Us Weekly that since the couple’s high-profile split last summer, the two are doing just swell. “They are incredibly happy,” Shankman says. “I’ve just been e-mailing with him. He’s coming back. He’s shooting ["All You Need Is Kill"] in London and seems as happy as a clam. I know he sees his daughter.” As for Holmes? “Katie seems really happy,” Shankman adds. “You just fight through all the noise. And it’s noisy!”

Swift’s fan mail ends up in the trash
Taylor Swift may find herself with with fewer adoring fans once they find out their letters and cards to the country crooner have been ending up in the trash. Nashville resident Kaylee Francescan discovered a mass of Swift fan mail in a dumpster, she tells local station WKRN. “There were like hundreds of letters in there to Taylor Swift and I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh!’ I didn’t know if they were stolen [or] discarded, so I threw them in a box,” she says. “And I’m like, ‘Somebody needs to let Taylor know.’ It did bother me [because] I know how much her fans mean to her.” A rep for the singer insists it was simply an error on the part of the mail sorter. “A small batch of mail that was supposed to be delivered to Taylor was accidentally put with letters headed for the recycling center,” the rep tells Us Weekly.

Steven Tyler writes the law
Hawaii’s state senate has passed the “Steven Tyler Act,” which gives celebrities the right to sue paparazzi over unwanted photos and videos taken of them, and the man for whom the act is named couldn’t be more thrilled. “[In Hawaii,] they are allowed in with their lenses and they get the most intimate of shots, which is what they are really looking for to make money. Not on my watch,” he tells Billboard. “Now at least Joe [Perry] and I can go to Maui and walk around naked in the back lawn and write some crazy songs.”

Is the fairytale over for Miley Cyrus and fiancé Liam Hemsworth?

Page Six, citing multiple sources, is reporting that Cyrus and the 23-year-old “Hunger Games” star have official split.

Despite cheating rumors involving Hemsworth and actress January Jones, the reason behind the split was Cyrus’ party-girl ways.

“Miley and Liam are done; it’s over,” one source said. “She likes to party really hard and can be pretty wild. It became a problem for him.”

Hemsworth is currently in his native Australia to get away from Los Angeles and spend some time with his brother and friends, according to the Post.

On March 6, Cyrus tweeted, “I am so lick of La. And sick of the lies that come with it. I didn’t call of my wedding. Taking a break from social media. #draining.”

“They have problem up before, and are broken up again now. There was drama because she suspected he had a wandering eye. And she recently tweeted a denial that he cheated,” another source said.

Cyrus was also recently photographed outside a Los Angeles recording studio without her engagement ring. She is reportedly working on her fourth record.

Oh, and don’t listen for Lil Jon’s new single, “Work,” on the radio anytime soon — it was created especially for Zumba and will be the official theme song for the nightclub series tour, complete with dance moves.
As Metro’s resident fitness test dummy, I admit that this class does sound tantalizing. But I will only partake under the following conditions: 1. I get to rehydrate with crunk juice instead of water, and 2. All participants get to shout “OH-KAY!” and “YAY-UH” whenever they please.

Their reps have deleted posts to the boy band’s Twitter account asking fans to submit photos of their own ink to win tickets to see the band’s upcoming 3-D movie. “This tweet was posted in error and has now been removed,” a rep tells the BBC. “One Direction does not want to encourage any of their fans to get 1-D tattoos.”

Is Lady Gaga ready to settle down with “Chicago Fire” star Taylor Kinney? “From all I’ve heard, I don’t think I’m dropping a secret by saying they are ready to get hitched this year,” DJ Lady Starlight, a close friend of Gaga’s, tells the Sun, adding that both Gaga and Kinney have free time in their schedules in July. “She told me he’s the one and you know that instantly when you see them together.” But a rep for the singer insists to E! There’s no rest in sight for Oscar-winner Jennifer Lawrence, who got right back in “Hunger Games” mode the day after nabbing a Best Actress statue. After filming the next film in the successful franchise, she’s set to re-team with “Silver Linings Playbook” co-star Bradley Cooper and director David O. Russell an FBI drama before putting on blue body paint for the next “X-Men” movie, which begins shooting in May. But all Lawrence wants to do is chill out. “I want to sit on my couch and drink and not change my pants for days at a time,” Lawrence tells E! News. “Don’t ask me about my schedule because I’m sinking into a bit of a depression.”

Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen have reportedly called it quits after more than two years of dating, according to Us Weekly. McAdams and Sheen first met while filming Woody Allen’s “Midnight in Paris” together, though they didn’t begin dating until later. “Michael and I didn’t get together while we were filming ‘Midnight in Paris,’ which I feel strongly about not doing when I’m working,” McAdams told Stella magazine last year. “We became quite good friends, which I think is a great way to start.” There was no word as to what led to their breakup. McAdams previously dated Ryan Gosling for two years after co-starring with him in “the Notebook.”

“Star Wars” star Carrie Fisher was reportedly hospitalized following a bizarre surprise appearance on a cruise ship, according to TMZ. “There was a medical incident related to Carrie Fisher’s bipolar disorder,” her rep says. “She went to hospital briefly to adjust her medication and is feeling much better now.” Attendees at the show report that Fisher was meandering about on stage, rambling incoherently and singing off-key while her dog relieved itself next to her.

Bobby Brown has been sentenced to 55 days in jail after pleading guilty to driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license, according to E! News. The charges stemmed from an October arrest when he was discovered behind the wheel without his dashboard Breathalyzer, a court-mandate condition from a previous charges. Brown, who reports for jail March 20, will also be on probation for 48 months and must complete an 18-month alcohol program.

Wolfgang Puck may be the world’s best-known celebrity chef — he certainly was one of the first in the U.S. — and at 63, he is busier than ever. Puck oversees a global empire of restaurants (including his flagship, Spago, in Beverly Hills), popular lines of canned and frozen food, and his designer cookware, all balanced with television and radio appearances and seemingly nonstop travel. As he recently told the New York Times, “Why stop? What would you do at home?”

There is even more on his plate: For the past 17 years, Puck has also been the executive chef of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ annual after-Oscar Governor’s Ball, probably the ultimate Hollywood party. The next dinner, on February 24, will once again be at the Hollywood & Highland Center, in the ballroom of the former Kodak Theater, now the Dolby Theater.

So what’s the secret to cooking for George Clooney, Angie and Brad, and hundreds of other Academy members? We caught up with the superstar chef in Los Angeles, on his cell phone in his car on his way to yet another meeting.

Q: How many guests are we talking about for this party?

There are about 3,500 people who attend the Awards, and we have a little less than half — 1,600 — at the actual dinner. It’s by invitation only.

Q: Organizing it strikes us as something like a military operation. Do you start planning the next one as soon as you finish the one on Oscar night?

Not at all. I do everything at the last moment. That’s my favorite thing.

Q: So that keeps the menu up to date. But don’t you have to finalize it ahead at some point?

We have to have the dishes decided by the middle of January. We do a presentation at a press conference for the media. So even Sherry has to have her dessert ready then, too.

Q: Can you handle special requests?

Oh, yes. We have everything: Vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, kosher …

Q: But how do you juggle all those different things?

We changed the format a few years ago to small plates. That way, there is something for everyone. So all night long there are small-portion dishes that get passed around to the tables.

Q: Like what?

You might get one grilled lamb chop, a small something with lobster like we do at Chinois, mini chicken pot pie with black truffles, slices of pizza, mac and cheese, a small potato with caviar. You eat six or seven little things. It’s easier on the kitchen, and everyone can pick and choose.

Q: Any particular favorites with the crowd?

After the first time we made the chicken pot pie with black truffles, someone on the Academy Board of Governors told me, “We don’t care what else you do, but you have to have the pot pie.”

Q: Can you dish on some specific celebs?

Barbra Streisand loves the wild mushroom risotto with black truffles, and the slow-braised short ribs. And a few years ago, Danny DeVito asked for a double order of lobster.

Q: How large is the team that you work with on that evening?

We have probably 300 in the kitchen and then 600 waitstaff in the dining room.

Q: Walk us through the time line leading up to that Sunday night.

Matt, our catering manager, organizes and buys everything. By Friday, we have all the food in for sure. But we might start ahead of that with things like smoked salmon — that’s 10 days before — or a week ahead for other things. We get the produce and perishables in as last-minute as we can. We had 800 Dover sole one year for the 1,600 portions.

Q: And the cooking?

We start the day before with what we can do, and then at 5 p.m. Sunday, as the show comes on in LA.

Q: It sounds as if you’re just using your regular staff to get this all done. That’s impressive.

Pretty much, yes. And we have a lot of other parties going on at the restaurants that week, too.

Q: What’s the seating arrangement? Do you help with that, too? That could be a nightmare in Hollywood.

I am part of that. And I treat it like my restaurants. We seat friends together, and the films and studios together. Dawn Hudson is great. She told me, “I want to have a party.” And the more we make it into an upscale party with great food, the more people like it.

Q: We know that it wasn’t always so.

No. When we were still at the original Spago, nobody went to the Governor’s Ball. The stars walked through it and then went straight to Swifty’s party at Spago. The press couldn’t interview anyone. The whole thing has changed.

Q: So it was a smart move to hire the creator of Spago for the Governor’s Ball.

It was rocky at the beginning. The first time I did it, the show was still at the Shrine. We had to build a kitchen outside, and it was windy and the burners kept going out. I was worried we would be serving raw chicken with black truffles. We had to put aluminum foil around the burners to keep them from blowing out. I had other LA chefs — I remember that Angelo from Valentino was there — to help me.

Q: But the Dolby Ballroom kitchen is better, I’m sure.

We have two kitchens there, and we designed them. So we don’t have to go camping anymore.

Q: When do you eat on Oscar night?

I eat all night as the plates go out, and of course we have staff meals — salads, soups — and we feed the crew and other staff. We feed more than 3,000 people that day.

Q: Who would you have cook an awards dinner for you?

I’d have a lot of the LA people, like Nobu and Nancy Silverton, and some of the new chefs like the guys from Animal. And I’d have some really good wines. For any awards dinner, you need to have good wines.

Q: Who does the wines for the Governor’s Ball?

Moet & Chandon. We’re hoping they’ll be back.

Q: Any downtime after the big night?

Oh, no. Straight back to work. We have the new Spago to run. I’m very happy with it, and people seem to love it.

Q: It sounds as if you have the Governor’s Ball down to a science.

It’s easier when it’s organized. To make a success, you have to do what you know how to do well. This isn’t the night to try anything new.

So much for those breakup rumors. Rihanna is celebrating her 25th birthday this week by escaping to Hawaii with Chris Brown by her side. The birthday girl posted a photo to Instagram of her smiling self perched on Brown’s lap in the back of a limo. They were also spotted seaside in Honolulu, according to E! News. “Chris was leading Rihanna by the hand,” a source says of their brief beach walk. “She was puffing on something as she walked and seemed very relaxed and happy. Her hair was blowing and she twirled around. She looked totally free and like she was really enjoying her birthday. Chris was protective and made sure to hold her hand as they walked.”

Lindsay Lohan is reportedly in hot water with a stylist after returning a borrowed $1,750 dress in tatters and with half of its length torn off, according to Us Weekly. Lohan “said that the dress had ripped [at a club after the fundraiser]. She couldn’t possibly wear it like that, so her stylist friend when to the club bouncer and requested some scissors to repair the torn parts of the dress. But what bouncer has scissors?” a source recounts. “She turned [the dress] into a mullet! She’s out of control and behaving really badly.” For those keeping track, this is the same dress that Charlie Sheen offered to help Lohan pay for before the fundraiser, but Lohan declined, deciding to simply borrow the dress instead. Imagine how she might have treated it if it has actually been purchased.

Shia LeBeouf has exited what would have been his Broadway debut — in a revival of “Orphans” alongside Alec Baldwin — less than a month before previews were to begin, but there’s been plenty of drama since he quit. LaBeouf, who is rather new to Twitter, decided to use the social-networking site to publish emails between himself, Baldwin, director Daniel Sullivan and co-star Tom Sturridge that all suggest some sort of squabble between LeBeouf and Baldwin that precipitated his exit. “I’m too old for disagreeable situations,” Sullivan writes in an email to LeBeouf. “You’re one hell of a great actor. Alec is who he is. You are who you are. You two are incompatible. I should have known it. This one will haunt me. You tried to warn me. You said you were a different breed. I didn’t get it.”

Denzel Washington is not one for Hollywood schmoozing. “Even within the industry, I don’t have any actor friends. My friends are my old friends,” the Oscar nominee tells the Guardian. Sure, but why doesn’t he make any new friends, considering how often he co-stars with new people in movies? “Because I don’t make friends!” he insists. “Maybe I’m not a butt-kisser. Maybe I’m not a schmoozer. I’m not about to go to a party to try to get a job. I don’t want movie star friends. And being African-American, there were no big movie stars to hang out with anyway, not when I was starting out. They were just the third guy from the back. For whatever reason, I never befriended any white actors.” Washington’s rep later clarified the report, saying Washington followed up that statement with a few exceptions, including Tom Hanks, Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts.

Matthew Broderick put the brakes on a recent performance of his Broadway show, “Nice Work if You Can Get It,” when he spotted an audience member taking a video of the show, according to E! News. A rep for the production confirms that Broderick, upon noticing the filming, called a stop to the action and addressed the videographer in question, asking him politely if he would refrain from doing that.

Gwyneth Paltrow just isn’t feeling it anymore when it comes to her acting career, according to Us Weekly. “She’s lost her passion for movies,” a source says. “She won’t quit acting. Her plan is to do one, maybe two supporting parts a year.” So what else will Paltrow use to fill her time? The source says she will mainly focus on her lifestyle Web site, Goop, with an aim to emulate another blonde star: Jessica Simpson. “She admires Jessica’s empire,” the source says. “She wants to make a killing.”

Charlize Theron‘s 1-year-old adopted son, Jackson, is already making headlines for his A-list birthday party, according to E! News. “Sandra Bullock was one of the first guests to arrive with her son Louis,” a source says of the fete held Sunday at Theron’s Hollywood Hills home. “As they walked into the party, they bumped into Chelsea Handler who had also just arrived in a limousine. They all walked in together and headed for the backyard where children’s music was playing and kids were running around.”

While Taylor Swift has already hit the recording studio in the wake of her split from Harry Styles, the One Direction member has pretty much kept mum about the ordeal — until now. “Yeah, I’m good,” Styles said when asked during an interview with Capital FM radio how he’s holding up. And when pressed specifically about Swift’s swipe at him during her Grammy Awards performance of “We are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” Styles took the high road. “She’s a great performer. She always performs great and she’s always good on the stage,” Styles says. “She’s done it for a long time. She knows what she’s doing on stage. It was just another good Taylor Swift performance. It was good.” Hopefully it won’t be too awkward when they run into each other, as both Swift and One Direction are set to perform at the Brit Awards tonight.

Though she started the month dodging pregnancy rumors, Fergie is happy to finally announce that she and husband Josh Duhamel are expecting their first child. “Josh and me and baby makes three,” Fergie tweeted this week — along with the hashtag “my lovely baby bump.” She also posted photos of herself and Duhamel as children. The pair tied the knot in 2009.

Renee Zellweger is enjoying her relationship with guitarist Doyle Bramhall, and she’s not afraid to show it. The pair was spotted making out on the beach during their current Hawaiian vacation, according to E! News. “They have been really cute together,” a source says. “They’ve been openly kissing and cuddling. He even has his guitar on vacation with him and was playing it for her while they waited for their rental car.”

Twitter was ablaze over Mindy McCready’s tragic suicide on Sunday (the troubled 37-year-old country singer shot herself in the same spot her longtime boyfriend, the record producer David Wilson, killed himself a month earlier). But after reports came out that McCready killed the family dog before turning the gun on herself, sympathy turned to anger — people seemed to be much more upset that she shot her dog rather than being in such a dark place that she would leave behind her two young children, Zander, 6, and Zayne, 9-months-old. Fergie has some new lovely lady lumps — it was announced yesterday via Josh Duhamel]s Twitter that the couple are expecting. “Fergie and Me and BABY makes three,” he wrote. Fergie, 37, followed suit: “Josh and me and BABY makes three!!!” she tweeted and included the hashtag #mylovelybabybump.
Duhamel has been talking about fatherhood for a while. “It’ll happen,” he told USA TODAY while promoting his new film, “Safe Haven.” “It’s happening. But every three months she’s pregnant [in the press]. If she gets a little paunch everyone thinks she’s pregnant. It’s like, well, thanks, they’re basically calling you fat. But like my mom said, well, if she’s been pregnant as long as everyone says that she is, well then we’re going to have a baby elephant. We’re on our own schedule with that.”

At least Charlie Sheen isn’t worried about Lindsay Lohan‘s legal troubles. “She’s terrific,” he tells Jay Leno in an interview. “I mean she’s going through a lot of stuff, but she’s smart and super-talented and will come out on top eventually, you know.” As for the $100,000 Sheen loaned the troubled actress — money she reportedly put toward her massive tax bill — Sheen says, “I didn’t know it was for taxes. If I had known that, I’d have given her half, you know.”

John Mayer is definitely mellowing when it comes to dealing with paparazzi. “The way that the media plays a part in everyone’s life has changed over the last several years,” he tells RollingStone.com. “I mean, I used to be incredibly put off by somebody taking a picture, thinking as if in some way it was it was invading my brain. But all it is is you can see where I was last weekend. That’s all. And I think time has shown that nothing will be stolen from you. It’s just a photograph of you and your dumb scarf that you put on because it wouldn’t fit in your suitcase. Cool.”

Steven Soderbergh might be retiring from directing, but that doesn’t mean a sequel to last year’s “Magic Mike” isn’t on the way — at least according to Matthew McConaughey, who played the leader of a team of male strippers in the film. “I know it’s something that’s legitimately brewing,” McConaughey tells MTV News. “In the right way [I would come back. It would be so much fun, but I would only be able to revisit [my character] Dallas if I really go, ‘OK, that’s what he would be doing.’ I’d have to keep him the same tone.”

Jeremy, 59, the star of more than 2,000 adult films, drove himself to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles early on Wednesday after suffering from chest pains.

“He just felt chest pains, like a very heavy weight,” Jeremy’s manager Mike Esterman told Reuters.

“He is being worked on for an aneurysm near his heart,” Esterman added.

Jeremy, nicknamed the “Hedgehog” for his short and hirsute body and known for his large mustache, parlayed his porn star fame into mainstream celebrity status by appearing on the American reality television series “The Surreal Life” in 2004, and by being featured in an advertisement by animal-rights advocates PETA.

His memoir, “The Hardest (Working) Man in Showbiz,” was published in 2007 by HarperCollins, a division of News Corp.

But now, we understand: Together, they’ve helped the “Twilight” franchise rake in $635 million at the domestic box office, which is only a fraction of the films’ $3.3 billion worldwide haul. This makes them the highest-grossing romantic celebrity co-stars, according to a new list from Forbes.

Being involved in real life wasn’t a requirement for the list, but it seemed to help. Pattinson and Stewart handily beat No. 2 — “The Vow” costars Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum — by a cool $510 million. Not even the iconic Carrie and Mr. Big could compete:  Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Noth raked in a mere $95 million for their “Sex and the City” movies.

Is it their unique chemistry, or is it the fact that “Twilight” fans will stare at anything that sparkles for two hours? Doesn’t matter — for $635 million, we’d throw love to the werewolves, too.  

Betty White is cooler than you

Betty White turned 91 yesterday, and she received quite the gift. In honor of the actress — who is a longtime animal lover and activist — the Lifeline Program adopted a red-tailed boa from the Los Angeles Zoo in her name.

Betty and the snake, Jacob, starred together in a music video to benefit the zoo last year. “Jacob is good as gold and cuddles in my arms,” says White in a statement that we could only hope to make someday.

His latest finds him playing a crafty crook with a surprisingly strict moral code — even when faced with the likes of Jennifer Lopez.

METRO: Do you consider this in the same vein as things like “the Mechanic” and “the Italian Job,” putting a modern spin on older action material?

STATHAM: You wouldn’t be far wrong in saying that. Parker’s a different sort of animal for me, though. He’s a crook, he’s a criminal, but there’s something about him that makes you forgive what he’s doing in some way, and I think there’s an interesting aspect to that. You know, you’re not supposed to like crooks or criminals. You know, he’s devoted to his girlfriend. There’s something about that, as well. Crooks and criminals usually haven’t got many morals. They do whatever they can for their ill-gotten gains, all they want is the money. But this guy has a particular way of taking it, and he has a way of protecting what he cares about.

It’s interesting, that girlfriend character, since you also have Jennifer Lopez in the movie, and people would assume, you two together on screen…

You’d expect something. When’s it going to go off? I know, some people will go, “Oh, I don’t believe it, it’s stupid. How could he resist? It’s f—ing Jennifer Lopez. What, is he blind? Is he stupid?” But [director] Taylor [Hackford] was insistent on keeping this guy true to himself and him having a strength in departments where other men were weak. (laughs) And again, he fulfills his promises. He keeps to his word, he’s a man of his word. And that is something that people have to admire because, you know, I live in f—ing Hollywood. Your word doesn’t mean much here, believe me. (laughs)

He’s kind of an OCD criminal, particularly with one very detailed line he delivers before dispatching a bad guy.

Yes! “You were supposed to torch the hay bales behind the livestock pavilion!” Boom! I love that line. I’m glad you noticed that, I loved that line. When I read the screenplay, I was like, “Oh my God, I f—ing love this guy.” Right to the end, he f—ing never let that f—er forget, you know? (laughs)

There aren’t that many new action stars in the vein of your “Expendables” co-stars. How did you manage to become one of them?

I mean, to categorize myself in the same breath as Stallone and Arnold is a little bit beyond me, but I love their movies. I’m a big action movie junkie, and it’s great to be making action movies. I think it’s still the strongest genre and always has been. I think it gets a bad name for itself sometimes because sometimes they’re a bit thin on story, and there are more often than not a lot of crap ones that get made. That wave just seems to wash over some of them. But I love being in the action movie genre. It’s fun, and it’s better than doing period dramas back in England. For me, at least.

You got your start in diving. What do you make of sudden popularity of celebrity diving specials?

Is it popular now? I need to see that. People are going to get f—ing hurt. Who’d have thought it, because it was a f—ing tiny sport when I was doing it. And it still is, as far as I know. It doesn’t put together big crowds, apart from the Olympics, and that’s only every four years. It’s funny to hear it’s popular now, because back when I started nobody knew what f—ing diving was. If I said I was a diver, they’d go, “Oh, how deep do you go?” So it would be very funny to see.

Nicole Kidman has been getting plenty of attention for her Golden Globe-nominated role in “the Paperboy” thanks to an infamous scene in which she urinates on Zach Efron. But Kidman doesn’t get what the big deal is. “I just don’t find urination shocking. I think I peed in the beginning of ‘Eyes Wide Shut,’ too. But then, I don’t find a lot of things shocking. Violence is a lot more shocking than sex — sex is primal,” she tells the Hollywood Reporter. “I felt shy singing in ‘Moulin Rouge,’ but peeing — no, not shy.”

Jennifer Lopez‘s career is doing just fine, but there’s at least one item she still has her heart set on: an Oscar. “I think everybody that has ever taken acting seriously would love to be recognized in that way,” Lopez tells E! News. “Of course! Why not?” She’s even good about keeping her acceptance speech up to date, should the need for it arise. “It changes every so often over the years,” Lopez says. “Different people, different things.”

Russell Crowe has taken to Twitter to refute a New York Post story that he and burlesque star Dita Von Teese are an item. The paper reported that the pair had enjoyed “a romantic couple’s massage” at the Four Seasons hotel in New York last month and have been getting flirty. “Dita Von Teese is brave, smart, sweet and elegant. She is a friend of mine. Who wouldn’t want friends like that? Friends, not lovers,” Crowe tweeted.

Elton John and David Furnish are parents once again, welcoming their second son, Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John via surrogate late last week in Los Angeles, the singer announced on his Web site. “Both of us have longed to have children, but the reality that we now have two sons is almost unbelievable,” John and Furnish tell Hello! magazine. “The birth of our second son completes our family in a most precious and perfect way. It is difficult to fully express how we are feeling at this time; we are just overwhelmed with happiness and excitement.” The boy’s birth comes just one day after John’s rep was flatly denying reports that the couple was expecting another child.

Lindsay Lohan reportedly did enough damage to her room at the W Hotel in New York’s Union Square last summer that she’s no longer welcome in the hotel, according to Us Weekly. “Her suite had so many cigarette burns, they had to change all the carpets. She did at least $50,000 worth of damage while partying,” a source says. “She is not allowed back at any W hotel in NYC, ever.”

He may trouble-prone and lack his older brother’s line of ascent to the British throne, but Prince Harry still beats out George Clooney to be named Town & Country magazine’s Most Eligible Bachelor in the World for 2013. “He’s the wild-card royal, the naughty one, the one who goes out with rah women, hangs out with a fast crowd, downs too many drinks, and goes home at the wrong moment. That’s why we all like him best,” the magazine’s editors say. “Harry might not possess a towering intellect — he was a lackadaisical student at Eton, and he skipped university to go to Sandhurst, the English equivalent of West Point — but he is cooler and more appealing than his older brother, sweet as William undoubtedly is.”

Justin Bieber‘s tattoo habit is insatiable. The 18-year-old Canadian singer has already gotten his second piece of body art of 2013, a set of Roman numerals across his collarbone, as revealed in an Instagram photo he posted of himself and producer Jamal Rashid, who got the matching digits on his bicep. In a comment on the photo, Rashid claims the numerals, “I IX VII V,” stand for 1975 and have some spiritual meaning, though Bieber hasn’t offered an explanation as to the meaning. In any event, if it’s mean to be the year 1975, it should be “MCMLXXV.”
