Cops have found the man who eluded police after slipping out of cops' custody this morning.

The NYPD just announced that the suspect was apprehended around 3:30 p.m. as he exited the subway at West 135th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue.

No injuries were reported, cops said.

Police had shut down the subways for hours after he escaped this morning while cops were arresting him for grand larceny.

According to police, cops went to to a building on St. Nicholas Avenue around 10 a.m. to arrest Vincens Vuktilaj, 18, at his home.

Cops handcuffed him and led him down the stairs, they said. [related tag="nyc"]

But then, he pushed cops out of the way and ran into the West 145th Street subway station.

Vuktilaj was not in a police car at the time as earlier reported, cops said.

Police said he is wanted for multiple grand larcenies where he allegedly snatched chains from female victims’ necks.

The most recent crime cited was April 29, when cops said Vuktilaj approached a 61-year-old victim around 7 p.m., asked her for directions then swiped her gold chain.

Cops said Vuktilaj had been arrested before for trespassing, jumping a turnstile and shooting at people with a BB gun.

They described him as 5-foot-6, 125 pounds with brown eyes and black hair, in a yellow long-sleeve sweater, jeans, black socks and no shoes.

The MTA shut down the nearby subway station in case he tried to flee by train after escaping the car.

A and C subway service was suspended between 59th Street and 168th Street.

All subways had been restored as of 1 p.m., an MTA spokesman said.

When Raenuka Reneau’s mother passed away, her grief was amplified by feeling like the only one who had ever lost someone.

“I felt alone,” Reneau, 17, told Metro.

The Democracy Prep High School senior said she struggled after her mother died in 2011 following a battle with lupus.

“I felt like I couldn’t talk to anyone about it,” Reneau said. “I felt like no one felt the same way I did.”

This week she launched the Flutter Foundation to help other young people share their stories of loss. Through the <a href="http://www.flutterfoundation.org" target="_blank">website</a>, people can share a story of losing someone through things like death, a breakup or loss of friendship.

She helped start the site with<a href="http://www.thefutureproject.org" target="_blank"> The Future Project</a>, a group that helps high school students.

So far, she has received 10 stories, and she hopes to get 1,000 before she graduates in June.

A Harlem woman jumped to her death from her eighth floor apartment window while holding her baby on Wednesday, but the baby survived the fall.

The woman fell on her back and the 10-month-old child bounced off her body, <a href="http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/manhattan/mother_suicide_shock_yKaasIPwNUKm0lbi8eLonO">the New York Post reported.</a>

Cindy Bacharach, 44, leaped from her window at The Sutton co-op building at approximately 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, leaving behind a long suicide letter in which she blamed herself for her baby's undisclosed medical conditions. Bacharach suffered from acute postpartum depression. She and her husband were fighting just hours before the suicide, neighbors told the Post.

<p>The crossing guard who was on duty when a <a href="http://www.metro.us/newyork/news/local/2013/02/28/child-killed-crossing-the-street-going-to-school/">Harlem boy was hit by a truck and killed</a> on Thursday has been suspended, according to police.</p>
<p>Flavia Roman, 55, was suspended on Thursday after 6-year-old Amar Diarrosova was run down by a tractor-trailer as he was crossing First Avenue at 117th Street. Roman was not at the intersection even though she was supposed to be on duty. She told reporters she was taking a break.</p>
<p>Diarrosova was on his way to school with his older brother. The driver of the truck, <a href="http://www.metro.us/newyork/news/local/2013/02/28/child-killed-crossing-the-street-going-to-school/">Robert Carroll Jr. of New Jersey</a>, was given a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian and another for failure to exercise due care.</p>

Two men have been charged with kidnapping a woman and forcibly prostituting her for two days until she finally escaped by jumping out of a six-story window, according to the Manhattan District Attorney's office.

Benjamin Gaston, 36, and Johnny Jackson, 53, have been indicted for raping and sexually assaulting a prostituted woman who they held captive for two days in November.

Gaston brought the victim, 28, to Jackson's apartment on West 92nd Street around 4 a.m. on Nov. 13. She was then robbed, raped and forced to have sex with multiple men. She called 911 from a phone in the apartment but was not able to relay her location to police.

On the next evening, Gaston brought the woman to another apartment on West 149th Street where several men were waiting. She was locked in the bedroom and told she would be forced to have sex with each of the men. The woman then tried to escape through a window and ended up falling six stories, breaking bones in her back, leg and arm. [related tag="crime"]

“The facts of this crime are truly heinous – these defendants are accused of holding a woman hostage in order to essentially enslave and prostitute her,” said Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. “They are also charged with raping and sexually assaulting her, making her so fearful for her life that she tried to escape from a sixth-floor window."

Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the death of 48-year-old Charles Romo, whose body was found tied up and beaten in his Hamilton Heights apartment on Jan. 28, police said.

Keith Stokes, 50, and Ralph Stokes, 52, were both charged with murder and robbery. Bridgette Cash, 38, has been charged with grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

Romo was found at his home at 87 Hamilton Pl. kneeling against his bed in his underwear with his hands and feet tied, and his mouth taped. New York had 419 homicides in 2012, or 3.8 murders for every 100,00 residents, but murder rates for some individual neighborhoods in the city are comparable to murder rates in some of the world's most crime-ridden countries, according to a study by Columbia University's The New York World, <a href="http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/nyc_world_of_hurt_hyMEyev2VYcnqNu5V5tXlL">the NY Post reports. </a>

East Harlem's rate of 21 murders per 100,000 residents was similar to Brazil's rates.

Neighborhoods in The Bronx had some of the highest numbers. Hunts Point had a similar rate as West African country Benin with 15.3 murders per 100,000 residents. And Mott Haven-Melrose in The Bronx had 13.1 per 100,000 residents, same as Nicaragua.
