Photographer Richard Corman called her "the pied piper of the Lower East Side" because when she sang and danced, others followed. And that was still a year before the release of her first album, when the rest of the world got to meet Madonna Louise Ciccone for the first time.

Now, for the first time, they'll get to see his photos too. Corman's street-style photos of a fresh-faced, 24-year-old Madonna taken when she was living on the Lower East Side in the 1980's were revealed to the public on Thursday in a free exhibit at the W Hotel in Times Square.

The photos show Madge dancing on a rooftop with neighborhood kids and sporting an early version of the unique style she would become famous for: bright red lips and torn jeans, dripping with studded bracelets and chains.

The exhibit, organized by Rock Paper Photo, will be open to the public until May 12.

Madonna gave a big smooch to Anderson Cooper as she presented him with the Vito Russo Award at Saturday's GLAAD Media Awards in NYC. Never one to shy away from controversy, the singer wore a Boy Scouts uniform to the event to protest the Boy Scouts' banning of gay scouts and leaders.

Lil Wayne is not going to die, just drank too much sizzurp
Things looked pretty dark for Lil Wayne on Friday: TMZ reported that the "Lollipop" rapper was in a coma and and being read his last rites at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in L.A. after suffering multiple seizures. But don't worry! "TMZ was so off base," a source close to the star tells Us Weekly. "Wayne is fine." The rapper took to Twitter a few hours after TMZ's report to confirm his well-being: "I'm good everybody. Thx for the prayers and love." His rep also told Us Weekly that "Wayne is doing well."
Ah yes, it was all a misunderstanding. Wayne was "just coming down off the high" from sizzurp, the source says, and that he's "not close to death or anything."
Sizzurp, for those not well-versed in recreational drugs, is "a highly addictive, narcotic concoction of prescription-strength cough syrup, sugary sodas and hard candies, typically sipped out of Styrofoam cups," the drug barons at Us Weekly explain. The cough syrups contain codeine and promethazine, which leads to what the mag calls a "sleepy high." The kids these days enjoy it because it's cheap and easy to make, Us says.
Hey, at least Wayne is honest: If we have to hear another report of a star being treated for "exhaustion," we're going to lose it.

Seacrest, out
Ryan Seacrest and Julianne Hough have split after more than two years together, People.com reported on Friday. Sources close to the couple said their busy work schedules contributed, but that they'll remain friends (because that's what everyone says at first). The duo — he's 38, she's 24 — lived together and were often seen jet-setting around the world, from Italy to St. Barts to Paris. On Saturday, in a classic "let's make him jealous" move, Hough tweeted a photo of herself laughing with friends at the beach, with the hashtag "#friendsarethebesttherapy."
Julianne, look on the bright side: At least now you don't have to wait an hour for the bathroom mirror anymore.

TALKING POINTS

DeVito, Perlman back together
For once, some good news in the world of celebrity relationships: Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman are reportedly back together after separating last fall, according to People magazine. "They love each other," a friend of the couple says. "Always have and always will." Their split stunned Hollywood, as the couple had been married for 30 years at the time of their split.

Should we believe Cyrus?
Miley Cyrus has an explanation for why she was spotted without her engagement ring recently amid rumors of trouble between her and fiancé Liam Hemsworth: The ring was off getting repaired. Cyrus responded to a friend on Twitter recently who was complaining about having to get her own engagement ring repaired, adding, "That's the worst! I just had a similar situation except when it happens to me then everyone says my wedding is off."

The royal squabbles
Apparently all couples fight, including Prince William and Kate Middleton. In the new documentary "Our Queen," British Olympic boxer Anthony Ogogo reveals that Middleton confided to him that both she and her husband have a competitive streak that comes out particularly when they're playing Scrabble, according to the Daily Mail. "She said when they play Scrabble they don’t usually finish a game, because somebody got in a mood and slammed it shut," Ogogo says.

DAILY TWITTER UPDATE: March 18, 2013

Checking in with some of Hollywood's biggest names to see what they've been up to — in their own words, in 140 characters or fewer.

Today, Emma Watson is dubious, Jason Mraz needs some loving, Seth Rogen has opinions and Sarah Silverman refuses to feel ashamed.

@EmWatson
Who here actually thinks I would do 50 Shades of Grey as a movie? Like really. For real. In real life.

@jason_mraz
Anybody got access to a kuala bear? Looking for a hug.

@Sethrogen
Call me crazy, but I prefer "Wrath of the Titans" over "Clash of the Titans."

@SarahKSilverman

[caption id="attachment_115268" align="alignnone" width="430"] Hello there, Madonna![/caption]

Madonna's foray into photo-sharing may be short-lived if she doesn't clean up her act. The singer recently joined Instagram, collecting more than 150,000 followers while posting provocative photos of herself as well as images of flowers, horses and artist Frida Kahlo. But she's also posted a warning she apparently received from the folks at Instagram about reviewing the site's community guidelines. "We value these guidelines and believe that they will help keep Instagram a safe and fun place for everyone," the message reads. "It is important to not that continuing to violate them may result in a disabled account or discontinued access to Instagram without warning."

Taylor Swift doesn't want to be a hypocrite, so she's fine with any of her more musically inclined ex-boyfriends penning tunes about their relationship with the pop-country crooner. "If I'm going to write songs about my exes, they can write songs about me," she tells InStyle UK. "That's how it works. I'm not going to complain about it. I'm not going to sit there and say, 'I"m the only one who can write songs about this relationship.' It's fair game."

More potential bad news for Lindsay Lohan in her ongoing battle with the Los Angeles legal system: The troubled actress' former assistant, Gavin Doyle, has been subpoenaed by the L.A. Attorney's Office to testify in connection with Lohan's probation violation trial, according to E! News. Lohan had told police that Doyle was behind the wheel when her Porsche collided with a truck last year, but Doyle has reportedly since revealed that Lohan herself was driving. Her next hearing is set for March 1.

Don't expect too many fireworks in the split between Diane Lane and Josh Brolin. While the couple is divorcing after nine years of marriage, sources says that it's "amicable" and "a mutual decision," according to TMZ. "It's not ugly, it's just over." In the divorce filing filed Feb. 15 in Los Angeles, Lane reportedly cites irreconcilable differences for the breakdown of their marriage and is looking to restore her name. While she continued to work under the screen name Diane Lane, she apparently legally changed her name to Diane Lane Brolin during their marriage.

Steven Tyler estimates that he has probably snorted $5 million or $6 million worth of cocaine during his drug-abusing days, which is a far cry from his estimate of $20 million in his 2011 memoir. "But it doesn't matter," he tells Australia's "60 Minutes" during an interview. "You also could say I snorted half of Peru, but it doesn't matter. You know, it's what we did."

Madonna was named the biggest money maker in music in 2012 on Friday, with a world tour helping her take home up to $34.6 million and highlighting the earning power of live performances as the industry increasingly goes digital.

The 54-year-old Material Girl topped Billboard Magazine's annual list of 40 top money makers for the second time after earning an estimated $32 million - 93.5 percent of her revenue - from her 88-date "MDNA" tour, 2012's biggest tour.

Madonna, who also led the list in 2008 due to tour income, was the only woman in the top 10 with last year's winner, Taylor Swift, who fell to 15th place as she did not tour in 2012.

In second place in the music magazine's list was Bruce Springsteen whose $33.4 million revenue was also primarily driven by touring, playing to sold-out stadiums and arenas.

Springsteen, who also released a No. 1 album, "Wrecking Ball," last year, earned 92 percent of his revenue from live shows where strong merchandise sales also boosted takings.

Roger Waters, founder of Pink Floyd, came a distant third with earnings of $21 million largely from "The Wall Live" tour and Van Halen was fourth with $20 million after touring in support of their album "A Different Kind of Truth".

"When it comes to making the biggest score, the most money always comes from high-paying live performances," Billboard's editorial analyst Glenn Peoples wrote in explaining the list.

"Ironically, the most popular touring artists are usually well past their peaks on the album sales charts."

Country music veteran Kenny Chesney, the Dave Matthews Band, country's Tim McGraw and Jason Aldean, and British band Coldplay came next on the list.

Canadian teen sensation Justin Bieber was 10th, earning almost $16 million of which about $10 million came from his sold-out "Believe" arena tour.

"The entire top 10 averaged 84.2 percent of their income from concerts, and the number would have been higher, if not for Justin Bieber's mere 60.1 percent share at No. 10 dragging down the average," said Billboard.

However touring was not vital for every act on the list such as Swift and Britain's Adele.

Swift earned $12.7 million after selling the most digital tracks in 2012. She sold more than 3 million digital albums and 15.6 million digital tracks driven by her hit "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together".

Adele took the year out after having a baby but still earned nearly $14 million, putting her 11th in the rankings, due to continuing strong physical and digital sales for her album "21".

Maroon 5, ranked 33rd in the list, took the highest share of streaming revenue which made 3.5 percent of its $7.2 million.

Billboard said streaming music online to paying customers has not caught on with older generations and was small in percentage terms but growing.

"Yet even in the coming years, as streaming services become a more important revenue source, possibly replacing digital downloads and CD sales, one thing is unlikely to change: concerts will have the greatest influence of top earners' overall earnings," said Peoples.

The list was compiled by Billboard editors using data for Boxscore archives of U.S. concert gross figures, Nielsen SoundScan data for sales, YouTube, and Nielsen BDS data.

It wasn't long before Elton John's latest jabs at fellow singer Madonna made headlines. Though this time, he crossed a new line — he called her the c-word.

Speaking to a reporter for an Australian TV show, Sir Elton John went below-the-belt in his criticism for Madge.

"Why is she such a nightmare? Sorry, her career is over. Her tour has been a disaster and it couldn't happen to a bigger c***," he ranted.

"If Madonna had any common sense she would have made a record like Ray Of Light and stayed away from the dance stuff and just been a great pop singer and make great pop records, which she does brilliantly..... But no, she had to go and prove... she looks like a f****** fairground stripper. She's been horrible to Gaga," he so eloquently added.

This time, he was firing back over Madonna's criticism of Lady Gaga, who is a personal friend of John and the godmother of his son.

However, this is not the first time Elton John and Madonna (two of music's biggest divas, one with a real British accent, one with a fake British accent) have been in the spotlight for their war of words. Allow us to reflect on the ye olde tale of one of the biggest feuds in music history.

It all started when back in 2004 at Britain’s Q Awards when Elton John said of Madonna, "Best f****** live act? F*** off! ... Anyone who lip-syncs in public onstage when you pay 75 pounds to see them should be shot."

Oh, snap!

It continued at the 2012 Golden Globe awards, when Elton John was asked to comment on his competition for "Best Original Song." He was nominated for "Gnomeo and Juliet."

"Mary J. [Blige] might win it for 'The Help,'" John said. "Madonna doesn’t have a f****** chance."

John later ate his words when Madonna did win the award. Later, Elton John's partner, David Furnish slammed her on Facebook with a status that read, "Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit ... And her criticism of Lady Gaga shows how desperate she really is."

Elton John has also had very public feuds with other celebrities including Lilly Allen, George Michael and the late Princess Diana.

For a man who asks the world, "Can you feel the love tonight?," Elton John sure is one hostile fellow.

It’s not easy being a single mother and having a career — not even for Madonna. "I'm not going to lie — it's hard work having four kids and doing all the work I do," she tells the Sun. "It's a challenge juggling everything -- multi-tasking is my middle name. I try to express that." As for coping with her struggle from ex-husband Guy Ritchie? "Sometimes I cope with it very well, sometimes it's a struggle," she says.
Matthew McConaughey recently moved his family from Los Angeles to Austin, Texas, and he couldn’t be happier with the decision. “No one recognizes you and no one asks you, ‘Hey, what do you do?,’ because I don’t think anyone cares,” he explained during a speech at the Texas Film Hall of Fame awards, according to People magazine. “My mother-in-law from Brazil has traveled around the world and we’ve lived in Los Angeles and New York,” McConaughey said during his presentation. “She says to me the other day, ‘In L.A., people will walk on your back and stand on your shoulders to get where they are going, in New York, they will just pull out a gun and tell you they will kill you. Here in Texas, everybody walks together.’”
While most wouldn’t think of the British Royal Family as a humorous bunch, Prince Harry insists there are a lot of laughs out of the public view. "She is very funny, but I think she gets it from my grandfather. They are very funny together," Harry tells the Telegraph about his grandmother, the Queen. "My family is the same as any other family when it comes to humor behind closed doors, though I'd like to think I was funnier than my grandmother."

Olivier Martinez and Halle Berry have kept fairly mum on their engagement, but Martinez is happy to confirm the happy news. “Yes, of course we’re engaged,” he tells Miami.com. at the opening of his new restaurant, Villa Azur. There are some things that Martinez would like to clear up, though: "There is a jeweler taking credit for doing the ring and it's a lie," he says. "They have nothing to do with this."
A month after Whitney Houston’s death, daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown says she still feels her late mother’s presence in the Atlanta home they shared. "Lights turn on and off and I'm like, 'Mom, what are you doing?'" Brown tells Oprah Winfrey during an interview. "I can still laugh with her and still talk to her." Brown is also planning to follow her mother’s path into show business. "I have to carry on the legacy," she says. "We're gonna do the singing thing. Some acting, some dancing. It's a lot of pressure, but she prepared me for it."
It looks like Katy Perry’s split from Russell Brand really was amicable, at least according to the pop star’s dad, Keith Hudson. "There are no hard feelings towards Russell,” Hudson tells Us Weekly. “I just received a text from him the other day in fact. He is a wonderful and smart guy." Brand’s divorce from Perry will be finalized in June. As for the singer herself? "Katy is doing well just now, " Hudson says. "Her career got really busy and she did not get to see that much of Russell. It was just one of those things."

If there has ever been a 53-year-old woman who can get away with "thinking over" a marriage proposal from her 24-year-old boy toy, it's Madonna.

Rumor has it, Madge's boyfriend, dancer Brahim Zaibat, popped the question a few weeks ago at a Kabbalah Centre in New York -- an appropriate venue for Madonna who has been a faithful follower of Kabbalah for years.

The couple has been dating for two years, but Madonna, who has been married twice already, is reportedly stalling her decision.

"Brahim asked Madonna to marry him at the center a few weeks ago, but Madonna hasn't given him an answer yet. She doesn't want to rush into anything," a source told the Daily Mail.

Madonna married actor Sean Penn in 1985, but divorced him two years later. She was married to director Guy Ritchie for eight years until the pair split in 2008. The Queen of Pop has been quoted saying she'd rather "get run over by a train" than tie the knot again.

Yes, getting run over by a train seems far better than marrying a 24-year-old hottie who completely adores you!

We're waiting for her answer in as much anticipation as Brahim Zaibat, but friends of the singer say her paranoia of ending up alone might be enough to get her to agree to a third marriage.

"Madonna has a real fear of being on her own. It's a major issue for her, and she loves having a man in her life who is young and makes her feel young," the source added.

Not a bad way to spend your post-50 life. Go for it, Madge!

If there has ever been a 53-year-old woman who can get away with “thinking over” a marriage proposal from her 24-year-old boy toy, it’s Madonna.

Rumor has it, Madge’s boyfriend, dancer Brahim Zaibat, popped the question a few weeks ago at a Kabbalah Centre in New York — an appropriate venue for Madonna who has been a faithful follower of Kabbalah for years.

The couple has been dating for two years, but Madonna, who has been married twice already, is reportedly stalling her decision.

“Brahim asked Madonna to marry him at the center a few weeks ago, but Madonna hasn’t given him an answer yet. She doesn’t want to rush into anything,” a source told the Daily Mail.

Madonna married actor Sean Penn in 1985, but divorced him two years later. She was married to director Guy Ritchie for eight years until the pair split in 2008. The Queen of Pop has been quoted saying she’d rather “get run over by a train” than tie the knot again.

So what gives with M.I.A. flashing her middle finger during Sunday night’s Super Bowl performance?

On the one hand, you hate that such a stupid throwaway gesture is distracting from such a bangin’ performance by Madonna (with assists by Cee Lo Green, Nicki Minaj, LMFAO and a man who resembled Richard Simmons on a tight rope), and you know all of this attention is exactly what the British hip-hop star wanted. But why would she flip it in the first place? Who was it directed toward? Was it was pre-approved by Madonna? Or just her own secret plan? If M.I.A. came up with that bit of “choreography” on her own, that’s really biting the hand that feeds (and exploits you just a little bit to feel more relevant in today’s musical climate). I find the whole thing immature. Like: You’re so tough, M.I.A. Way to stick it to the man ... who is paying you millions to appear on TV sets in 100 million homes. You must be so angry!

On the other hand, after everything edgy Madonna has done in her life, why is everyone in an uproar about one little middle finger?

Karl on M.I.A. and her middle finger
“Nowadays people give the middle finger quite quickly – it’s not the best behavior. Everybody does that, what’s new about that? It’s just become a bad habit.”

NBC vs. NFL

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said in a statement that NBC was to blame for airing the offending finger. “There was a failure in NBC’s delay system. The gesture in the performance was completely inappropriate, very disappointing, and we apologize to our fans,” he said. Meanwhile, NBC sports spokesman Christopher McCloskey shifted the blame back, saying, “The NFL hired the talent and produced the halftime show. Our system was late to obscure the inappropriate gesture, and we apologize to our viewers.”

Katy Perry ... and Tim Tebow?

Katy Perry made her first U.S. concert appearance since husband Russell Brand filed for divorce, playing a pre-Super Bowl party in Indianapolis, according to People magazine. And while she made no mention of Brand, she did apparently have another guy on her mind: “This one goes out to Tim Tebow,” she said before playing her song “Peacock.” It was previously reported that Perry’s religious parents were eager to set their newly single daughter up with the football player because “above all, he’s a good Christian.” If you need a rebound who is the exact opposite of your soon-to-be ex-husband, Tim Tebow is probably it.

Demi Moore’s recent hospitalization after smoking an unknown substance reportedly caps of months of self-destructive partying after her split from Ashton Kutcher, according to Us Weekly. "She's been really down, and she's surrounding herself with young people to make her feel better," a source says. "She's been mixing pills and Red Bulls, among other things." She’s also said been seeking the company of hunky young star Zac Efron, a friend of daughter Rumer Willis. Moore reportedly tracked Efron down at a house party recently, showing up looking “wired and gaunt,” according to the magazine. “She seemed out of her mind at this party,” a source says.

Lindsay Lohan reportedly has a new man in her life — 21-year-old Henry Hopper, son of the late Dennis Hopper and star of Gus Van Sant’s recent “Restless,” according to TMZ. Lohan and Hopper were recently spotted picking up a clutch of vodka and Red Bull at a Venice Beach liquor store near the home Lohan is in the process of moving out of. “Lindsay’s been in here before,” a store employee says. “Today she brings in this young guy and they were all touchy-feely and they kissed on the lips a couple times. Just quick little love-pecks but they were definitely together.”

Blake Lively is looking forward to having kids one day, and given her extensive wardrobe, she’s hoping they turn out a particular way. "I hope to have a few girls one day," she tells Elle Magazine. "If not girls, they better be trannies. I have some amazing shoes and bags and stories than need to be appreciated.

Even though she’s set to play adult film star Linda Lovelace on screen, Amanda Seyfried is “terrified of being promiscuous,” she admits to Glamour magazine.“I don’t like the feeling you get when it’s not something that you truly want to do, and I hate the emotional abuse you give yourself afterward. It’s just uncomfortable when you’re with somebody and you’re like, ‘I don’t really know if I’m even comfortable with this.’” Which might have something to do with why Seyfried has taken herself off the market: “Right now I’m happy to not have someone’s naked body around me. Except for my dog’s,” she says. And as for those rumors that she’d been hooking up with her “In Time” co-star, Justin Timberlake? “I think any female that meets him at first is like, ‘I want to date you,’” she says. “He seems so perfect, but you get to know him, and he’s a good pal. He’ll tell you what he really feels. But, you know, he’s really famous, which has its downsides.”

Madonna’s daughter, Lourdes Leon, was pressed into service for “W.E.,” though her debut performance didn’t make the cut, the Material Mom tells MTV. “There was a scene where she played Wally as a young girl, and I just kind of dragged her in at the last minute,” Madonna says of having her daughter play a young Wallis Simpson, the subject of her new film. “It was quite unfair of me to do what I did and what I asked her to do, but she was really great.” Apparently not great enough, though: “I ended up cutting her out of the film. Ruthless, I know,” Madonna says. “I said, ‘Sorry babe, you’re on the cutting room floor.’ She took it like a champ.”

David Beckham wants the world to know he will no longer be hanging out at home in the buff. "My naked days are over," Beckham says while unveiling his new line of underwear for H&M, according to Hollyscoop. "I definitely walk around the house in my underwear. But not naked. With the boys it's not a problem because they're naked all the time but with a little girl now, it is different."

Though this is the 46th Super Bowl, programmers have only been bringing big-name acts in for the halftime show since about 1991, when New Kids on the Block sang “Step by Step.” Before that, the entertainment was mostly marching bands from the state where the teams were playing or performers who didn’t exactly reflect the tastes of the masses, like Carol Channing. We re-watched the halftime shows and picked our five favorites.

1. U2, 2002
It was fewer than five months since the attacks of 9/11, and this three-song set from Dublin’s finest did a heroic job of honoring those who died that day and saluting the country that U2 has always wished they were from, as Bono revealed an American flag close to his heart. Criticize Bono all you want for pandering, but even now it’s hard not to get misty as the names of 9/11 victims scroll down a huge screen as U2 plays “MLK” and “Where the Streets Have No Name.”

2. Prince, 2007
His royal purpleness has always been known for his stadium-sized ego, but what made this performance unique is that despite performing on a stage shaped like the symbol that once served as his name, the dude performed a medley of seven songs, only three of which were his. He touched upon others by Queen, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Bob Dylan and the Foo Fighters. But since he is Prince, he obviously made all of these tunes his own.

3. Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, 2009
To condense a Springsteen concert experience into 13 minutes sounds almost as preposterous as trying to fit the complete works of Shakespeare onto a Bazooka Joe comic. But the Boss was able to fill a four-song suite with whole lot of hokey fun, in-cluding a gospel choir, a flag-throwing ref, a knee-slide across the stage, some mic-stand gymnastics and the return to the stage of Big Man Clarence Clemons, who had just had both knees replaced only a few months previously.

4. Michael Jackson, 1993
Billed as “an unprecedented Super Bowl spectacular,” this show by the King of Pop was reportedly one of the most watched in TV history and would change the way networks programmed halftime. This was MJ just months before he was accused of sex-ually abusing children. It’s ee-rie now to hear him say, “no one should have to suffer, especially our children,” but the performance itself was touching (not the bad kind) as he sang “Heal the World,” and the crowd held up placards to form drawings by kids.

5. Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake, 2004
Call it “Nipplegate” if you must, but we always pre-ferred “Super Boob Sunday.” Watching this performance by Michael’s little sister, it’s amazing how the phrase “wardrobe malfunction” became the 00’s version of “I didn’t inhale.” Seriously, we were supposed to believe that Janet just happened to be wearing a metal sunburst around her areola? Regardless of how planned or unplanned the “bet I’ll have you nekkid by the end of this song” ending was, the duet with JT on “Rock Your Body” definitely still holds up eight(!) years later.

Elton John and Madonna are in the middle of a huge feud — and honestly, I haven’t seen two queens go at it this hard since “RuPaul’s Drag Race.”

It started Sunday night at the Golden Globes, when both of the icons were nominated against one another in the category of Best Original Song. Madonna was nominated for “Masterpiece” in “W.E.” while Elton was tapped for “Hello Hello” from “Gnomeo & Juliet.”

When asked by Carson Daly on the red carpet about the chances of Madonna winning, EJ quipped: “Madonna doesn’t have a f—ing chance.”

Then, when Madonna actually won, Elton’s partner, David Furnish, went onto Facebook to vent his frustration. “Madonna. Best song???? F—off!!!” Not satisfied, he continued his rant: “Madonna winning Best Original Song truly shows how these awards have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism,” he wrote.

Madonna won’t fight dirty though, and backstage she was the definition of polite.

“I hope he speaks to me for the next couple of years,” she said about John. “He’s been known to get mad at me so I don’t know. He’s brilliant and I adore him so he’ll win another award. I don’t feel bad!”

Way to take the high road, Madge. You could have easily just pointed out that the man known for such classics as “Candle in the Wind” and “Rocket Man” was this year hoping to win an award for a movie called “Gnomeo & Juliet.”

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi won’t be starting a family anytime soon, the talk-show host says in her new book, “Seriously ... We love to be around children after they’ve been fed and bathed. But we ultimately decided that we don’t want children of our own. There is far too much glass in our house,” DeGeneres jokes, before going on to explain the the couple have a veritable menagerie of pets at their L.A. home and on their farm.

Madonna’s second oldest brother, Anthony Ciccone, is homeless and living under a bridge in Traverse City, Mich., he tells local news site The Michigan Messenger. “My family turned their back on me, basically, when I was having a hard time,” the 55-year-old says. “You think I haven’t answered this kind of question a bazillion times — why my sister is a multi-bazillionaire and I’m homeless on the street? Never say never. This could happen to anybody.” Ciccone says his troubles started when he lost his job at his father’s Suttons Bay winery more than a year ago.

It couldn’t get worse than the Black Eyed Peas, right?

According to a report from SB Nation, Madonna was picked to perform at the Super Bowl XLVI half time show.

The Super Bowl will be aired on NBC on February 5, 2012 from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

There’s no doubt the Queen of Pop will put on an entertaining show, but the truth is, Madonna isn’t what she used to be in the 80s and 90s. So the question remains, just how risqué will she be?

After Janet Jackson’s and Justin Timberlake’s 2004 wardrobe malfunction fiasco, the acts have been pretty tame.

In the past years, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band, The Who, Prince and Paul McCartney have headlined the half time show. The Rolling Stones headlined in 2006, but just like Madonna, they Rolling Stones today, are not the same Rolling Stones as the past.

While we would appreciate someone a bit more contemporary – Beyoncé! – the half time show is about the music, and as Madge would say, “music makes the people come together, oh yeah.”

Producers behind reality singing competition “The Voice” have no plans to ditch judge Christina Aguilera, despite rumors that the singer isn’t going to be part of the show’s second season. “There is absolutely no truth to the rumor,” NBC’s Paul Telegdy says in an official statement. Aguilera is still under contract for Season 2, which premieres in February.

Madonna is making the most out of her “I hate hydrangeas” gaffe from the Venice International Film Festival. The singer has released a video on YouTube showing her, in silent film style, apologizing to a bouquet. “You have no idea how many nights I have lost thinking how I hurt you. Words cannot express how sorry I am,” the subtitles read, until the tone changes and she lashes out at the flowers. “I still hate hydrangeas! And I will always hate them! It’s a free country! So f— you, I like roses,” the video says as Madonna screams and stomps on the hydrangeas.

If the whole royal family or military thing doesn’t work out, Prince Harry could have a career in finance. The 26-year-old royal set a record for closing the largest foreign exchange deal while manning the phones during a charity event, completing a $24.5 billion swap between Barclays London and a European counterpart, according to the London Metro. Harry earned $9,000 commission for the effort, which he plans to donate to charity.

Her directing work may be receiving lukewarm reviews, but Madonna has other career opportunities, apparently. Dating website CougarLife.com has reportedly approached the singer about becoming its spokeswoman, explaining that Madonna is “without a doubt the queen of cougars.” The site is offering her $300,000, plus an additional $750,000 if she releases a song by Valentine’s Day for the site.

A jewelry store employee in Sydney, Australia, thought she was about to be robbed recently when a man entered wearing a hoodie, baseball cap and sunglasses, but it turns out it was just Leonardo DiCaprio, according to Hollyscoop. Before realizing her mistake, the clerk sent a customer to alert the shop’s owner. “The customer actually leaned in and said, ‘Do you want me to call the police?’” the other store’s owner says. “So she rushed in next door, and said, you know, ‘There might be a holdup next door.’” The $1,600 necklace that DiCaprio ended up purchasing was a gift for his mom and not rumored girlfriend Blake Lively, according to the store employees.
Reese Witherspoon is looking to move on after getting hit by a car last week, and the Oscar winner is not planning to press charges, according to People magazine. But that doesn’t mean the 84-year-old driver is in the clear, as she was still cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Witherspoon was treated for minor injuries.

While Leonardo DiCaprio may have been filming in Australia during rumored girlfriend Blake Lively’s birthday — she celebrated with pals in New York — he was at least on hand last month for her father’s big day in Los Angeles, where he reportedly gifted the senior Lively with an elaborate coloring book, according to Us Weekly. “Blake’s father loved it,” a source says, adding that the alleged couple are getting pretty cozy and “are so smitten it’s crazy. I bet they get engaged in the next six months.”

Timberlake Colorado PDA

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel are fueling speculation that they’re back on again. The pair hit up a friend’s wedding in Colorado over the weekend and the couple definitely seemed to be enjoying each other’s company, according to People. “There was plenty of PDA,” a source says.

Madonna vs. Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga has made it clear that she’s possibly Madonna’s biggest fan, but the same apparently can’t be said for Madge’s feelings about “Mother Monster.” “As for Lady Gaga, I have no comment to make about her obsessions having to do with me because I don’t know whether her behavior is rooted in something deep and meaningful or superficial,” Madonna tells French newspaper Le Soir. Her rep has tried to smooth things over, telling E! News, “I do know that [Madonna] has said many supportive things about Gaga over the years.”

Hannigan: Not pregnant

Alyson Hannigan took to Twitter to clear up pregnancy rumors after a photo where she appeared to be sporting a baby bump popped up online. “No, I’m not pregnant! I just ate too much carnival food, that time of the month, hurt my back and couldn’t suck my gut in — and need to do cardio,” the star posted in response.

Madonna brought her directorial debut, “W.E.,” to the Venice International Film Festival last week, but the critical drubbing her work received was hardly welcoming. The film, about American socialite Wallace Simpson and starring Abbie Cornish, was dubbed “an extraordinarily silly, preening, fatally mishandled film” by the Guardian. Variety declared that, “burdened with risible dialogue and weak performances, the pic doesn’t have much going for it.” The singer and first-time director will next head to the Toronto International Film Festival next week.

The “Shrek” star is reportedly at the top of the list for director Brett Ratner, who is producing the awards show, and Murphy is said to be “showing interest,” sources say. Murphy nearly secured Oscar gold himself for his role in “Dreamgirls,” but many believe his poorly received comedy “Norbit,” released during Academy voting, dashed his chances.
