The man who allegedly shot and killed a 14-year-old Queens girl as she was riding a city bus was caught in South Carolina and arrested, the Queens District Attorney's office announced Tuesday.

Kevin McClinton, 21, has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of D'aja Robinson on May 18.

Robinson was sitting near the rear of a Q6 bus in Jamaica on her way home from a Sweet 16 party when McClinton allegedly fired multiple shots toward the bus, aiming for another individual. One of the bullets pierced the window and struck Robinson in the neck. She was taken to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead, according to a statement from the D.A.'s office. [related tag="shooting"]

“The death of this young, talented 14-year-old is a senseless tragedy and another painful example of the mindless gun-related violence that too often takes innocent lives,” District Attorney Richard Brown said.

A veteran NYPD detective and former bodyguard to Mayor Michael Bloomberg was convicted of attempted murder yesterday in connection with the off-duty shooting of an unarmed man, according to the Queens District Attorney's office.

Leopold McLean, 48, approached Lepaul Gammons, 39, in the vicinity of 119th Road and 153rd Street in South Jamaica around 12:30 a.m. on November 15, 2010 and demanded to know why he was at that location--the home of a woman that they both knew.

McLean then pointed a black handgun at Gammons. When Gammons tried to run from the location, McLean began firing the gun and shot Gammons in the buttocks. McLean continued to shoot until Gammons finally got into his car and drove off.

Gammons is the ex-boyfriend of McLean's girlfriend, according to news reports.

"This is truly a sad day for everyone when a police officer is convicted of breaking the very laws he had sworn to uphold," said District Attorney Richard Brown. "But in the pursuit of justice, nobody is above the law. The defendant must now bear responsibility for his actions." [related tag="NYPD"]

McLean, who has been a member of the NYPD for 19 years, has been convicted of second-degree attempted murder and first-and second-degree reckless endangerment. He faces a mandatory minimum of five years in prison and a maximum of 25 years in prison, according to the Queens DA's office.

Police have arrested a 25-year-old man for sexually assaulting two 7-year-old girls in the South Ozone Park section of Queens last week.

Lee Samuel allegedly approached his first victim May 1 while she was tying her shoe on the sidewalk and tapped her on her buttocks, according to the Queens District Attorney's office.

A few hours later on the same day, Samuel allegedly approached his second victim in front of her home and asked her if she wanted to play a game. Samuel then told the girl to cover her eyes with her hands and stick out her tongue. When the girl uncovered her eyes, she saw that Samuel had exposed himself. He then grabbed her by the waist and engaged in a sexual act with the child.

Samuel is charged with forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child in the first incident and first-degree criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child in the second incident. [related tag="NYPD"]

“The defendant is accused of being a sexual predator. Such an allegation makes him a threat to children and a clear and present danger to society in general. Such conduct, if proven true, cannot go unpunished,” said Queens District Attorney Richard Brown.

Omer Khogali, 17, of East Elmhurst, allegedly hit the girl multiple times in the head with a brick about 10:45 p.m. April 9 near 22-63 43rd Street in Astoria.

The victim, Michelle Rodriguez of Astoria, was in critical condition with severe head injuries at Elmhurst Hospital after the attack.

Khogali was arraigned Sunday morning on charges of attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon, according to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown's office.

He was spotted on surveillance video shortly after the attack. The video shows Khogali dropping an object on the sidewalk as he fled the scene. A brick with blood stains was later recovered from that location.

The criminal complaint also alleges that a witness observed Khogali walking up to several cars and pulling on the door handles shortly before the attack. The witness screamed and he hit the witness with a brick to quiet them.

A 23-year-old man has been charged for using a stun gun to subdue his ex-girlfriend at her Queens apartment and then sexually assaulting her. He was arrested Wednesday at Kennedy International Airport where he tried to flee with the stun gun still in his carry-on bag.

Prodromos Vasilopoulos, of Athens, Greece, was trying to board a flight to London after he attacked his former girlfriend inside her Jamaica, Queens apartment earlier this week, according to the Queens District Attorney's office. The suspect was able to pass through TSA screening with the weapon in his bag, raising some questions about how he got passed security. He was arrested near the boarding gate.

Vasilopoulos allegedly posed as a UPS delivery man to gain entry into the 19-year-old victim's apartment on Tuesday. He allegedly jolted her with the stun gun and then shoved his fingers in her mouth to stop her from screaming. He then took her to her bedroom and placed a pillow over her face to stop her from breathing before sexually assaulting her. [related tag="crime"]

The suspect also allegedly made 200 calls and text messages to the victim between Feb. 16 and Feb. 21 in which he threatened to make her pay for breaking up with him.

He is charged with predatory sexual assault, first-degree burglary, second-degree assault, strangulation and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He is also charged in second complaint with second-degree aggravated harassment and second-degree harassment.

A 34-year-old Brooklyn man has been charged with murder in connection with two bodies that were found in a fire in Howard Beach last week, according to the Queens District Attorney's office.

Rogelio Rodriguez of Brooklyn is charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, criminal possession of a weapon and tampering with evidence.

The bodies of Gary Lopez and Rudy Superville, both of Brooklyn, were found in a fire in a grassy area off the Belt Parkway in Howard Beach on March 6 after firefighters had responded to a call about a fire. The Medical Examiner said both men sustained blunt force trauma as well as gunshot wounds. Superville also sustained stab wounds to the back and neck.

Police said they believe the victims were trying to steal drugs from Rodriguez' apartment when they were attacked, according to The New York Times. [related tag="crime"]

Sometime after midnight on March 7, Rodriguez dumped seven firearms in Newton Creek in Maspeth, Queens, including two weapons that were used in the murders of Lopez and Superville, according to the District Attorney's office.

Police are still searching for at least three other suspects who were involved in the murders.

Two young men have been charged after they robbed and killed a Queens man before they set his apartment on fire to cover up their crimes this weekend, according to the Queens District Attorney’s office.

Stephen Peters, 22, and Jason St. Hill, 17, went to the apartment of Azeem Ali, 43, in the Richmond Hill section of Queens just after midnight on Sunday. After they arrived, Peters allegedly punched and pistol whipped the victim and then tied his hands and feet with electrical cord.

Peters also allegedly took Ali’s ATM card and demanded his PIN number before shooting him in the head. He then poured gasoline around the apartment and set it on fire. The two men allegedly headed to an ATM machine at a nearby gas station where they withdrew $200 from Ali’s account. [related tag="crime"]

The accused men were arraigned in Queens Criminal Court Thursday evening. They are charged with murder, kidnapping, burglary, arson, and robbery, among other charges. They were held without bail and ordered to return to court on March 14.
