Look. I know the members of Hanson are old and they have, like, 23 kids between them (even the baby drummer has procreated — twice.) I’ve interviewed them several times and the voice on the other end wasn’t prepubescent (they are also supersensitive to people thinking they are teenagers, something I learned the hard way when I squealed, “You are so grown up!” to them.) I’ve even listened to their later albums. What I’m saying is: I KNOW THEY ARE OLD AND CAPABLE OF PARTYING. But when I read on E! News that Kristen Stewart decided to celebrate her 23rd birthday by crashing a record release party for the band at L.A. nightspot No Vacancy, my first thought was, “What is KStew doing with a bunch of 8-year-olds?” Apparently, if you broke out as a little person, I will always consider you a little person (don’t get me started on Lil’ Bow Wow.) Anyway, according to E!, the birthday girl arrived around 11 p.m. with Robert Pattinson and about 10 friends in tow, though it was unclear if they knew ahead of time about the band’s party. “They weren’t overly affectionate or anything, but at points they were standing together as they talked to friends,” a source says of Stewart and Pattinson. And then Hanson played pin-the-tail on the donkey, ate confetti cake and all three had temper tantrums when they were told it was bedtime. (I’m so sorry, Hanson. Next interview we do together, impress me with your 401K plan and maybe I’ll wrap my head around the fact of your aging.)

The drama between Rihanna and Chris Brown continues
Reports that Rihanna and Chris Brown have broken up might not exactly be accurate, but that doesn’t mean the couple is happy, according to Us Weekly. A source tells the magazine that while the pair hasn’t actually split up, they are fighting all the time. “Every second it’s a blow-up and then full-on in love,” the source says. “She’s touring and working her ass off, and he’s working his off in the studio,” and those busy schedules are adding to the stress. Rihanna is even using work to vent some of her frustrations, asking an audience at an L.A. concert this week, “How many of you are in love? How many of you hate love? How many of you don’t f—ing understand it? I’m in that group. The confused group.”

Madonna continues fight with Malawi president
Madonna’s ongoing feud with Malawi President Joyce Banda isn’t getting any better, with Banda now blasting the singer for reportedly demanding expedited travel privileges for herself and her entourage for a recent visit to the country, according to Yahoo! News. “Granted, Madonna is a famed international musician,” Banda says in a statement. “But that does not impose an injunction of obligation on any government under whose territory Madonna finds herself, including Malawi, to give her state treatment. Such treatment, even if she deserved it, is discretionary, not obligatory.” Madonna and company instead had to queue up with regular passengers and were reportedly frisked before being allowed through security.

Ben Affleck: Mr. Mom
It’s Jennifer Garner’s turn to go to work, which means husband Ben Affleck will be staying home with the kids, the “Argo” director reveals, according to Us Weekly. “She’s got a couple of movies coming up. There’s going to be a little Mr. Mom action and I’m going to get back in the ring,” Affleck says. “She told me to go to the gym, I’m preparing myself. I’m going to take on some more of the burden.”

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are reunited after his latest stint filming in Australia, and the couple reportedly celebrated by hitting up their favorite local dive bar, L.A.’s Ye Rustic Inn, according to E! News. “They seemed really happy to be with each other. Rob and Kristen were having so much fun together,” a source says. “They sat in the back of the bar in a booth and were laughing. At one point, they were standing at the bar and were just being normal, as any boyfriend and girlfriend would be with each other. They were touchy-feely. She was holding on to his jacket and had her hand on his back. They were just being cute.”

Just because Lindsay Lohan is facing 90 days in rehab doesn’t mean she can’t keep cultivating her love life. The troubled starlet is rumored to be dating NYC-based club promoter and musician Avi Snow, according to E! News, though sources say the pair’s relationship is still in “the early stages.” But he certainly seems to be getting a lot of time with Lohan before she gets locked up: Snow was reportedly one of the passengers on the private jet that whisked Lohan to court Monday morning, and after she had her latest mug shot taken the next day she hurried over to a show Snow’s band put on at a private Santa Monica club.

Taylor Swift has reportedly set her sights on 20-year-old pro surfer John John Florence, according to Life & Style, though their budding relationship is still mostly on a telecommunications level. “He and Taylor have been text messaging,” a source says. “Apparently she contacted him. I don’t think they have hung out yet. They’ve just been chatting. John John doesn’t want to ruin things, so he’s being careful not to say too much.” He’s apparently taking that job very seriously. When asked by an Australian TV reporter earlier this month about “a little bit of something” she had heard about him and Swift, Florence responded, “It’s kind of a secret thing going on right now. Can’t bust it out in the public just yet.”

Bad news for Ryan Gosling fans: “The Place Beyond the Pines” star plans to take a break from acting, according to the Huffington Post. “I’ve been doing it too much. I’ve lost perspective on what I’m doing. I think it’s good for me to take a break and reassess why I’m doing it and how I’m doing it,” he says. “I need a break from myself as much as I imagine the audience does.”

 Jon Hamm‘s physical attributes are causing quite a stir on the “Mad Men” set, according to the New York Daily News. “This season takes place in the 1960s, where the pants are very tight and leave little to the imagination,” a source tells the newspaper. “Jon’s impressive anatomy is so distracting that they politely insisted on underwear.” And while the wardrobe mandate is garnering plenty of giggles, Hamm’s rep is not amused. “It is ridiculous and not really funny at all,” the rep tells the newspaper. “I’d appreciate you taking the high road and not resorting to something childish like this that’s been blogged about 1,000 times.”

Being involved in real life wasn’t a requirement for the list, but it seemed to help. Pattinson and Stewart handily beat No. 2 — “The Vow” costars Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum — by a cool $510 million. Not even the iconic Carrie and Mr. Big could compete:  Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Noth raked in a mere $95 million for their “Sex and the City” movies.

Is it their unique chemistry, or is it the fact that “Twilight” fans will stare at anything that sparkles for two hours? Doesn’t matter — for $635 million, we’d throw love to the werewolves, too.  

Betty White is cooler than you

Betty White turned 91 yesterday, and she received quite the gift. In honor of the actress — who is a longtime animal lover and activist — the Lifeline Program adopted a red-tailed boa from the Los Angeles Zoo in her name.

Betty and the snake, Jacob, starred together in a music video to benefit the zoo last year. “Jacob is good as gold and cuddles in my arms,” says White in a statement that we could only hope to make someday.

Brian Austin Green and Megan Fox managed to keep the birth of their son a secret for more than a month — and he says all the credit goes to Reese Witherspoon, as the world was too busy cooing over her newborn to notice, he tells Ryan Seacrest during an interview. “We got really lucky,” he says. “And I’ve been wanting to send Reese Witherspoon flowers for, like, a month and a half. She actually gave birth, I think, the day before us in Santa Monica.”

Seeing as how he’s starred in all five “Twilight” films with Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, it was only a matter of time before Taylor Lautner was asked to weigh in on Stewart’s cheating scandal that broke this summer. And an interviewer for Cosmopolitan magazine did that, though Lautner chooses a very diplomatic route for his response. “To be honest, I’ve never been involved in any of those situations, so I don’t know [if trust can be regained],” he says, “It would be just a guess and a shot in the dark, and I don’t want to give that if I haven’t even been there myself.” He does say, however, that he thinks it’s possible for a relationship to survive a cheating scandal, assuming they’ve been together long enough: “If it was a long, serious relationship, I think it’s quite easy to rekindle,” he says. “I guess it depends on what damage has been done.”

Looks like those Kristen Bell pregnancy rumors were true. First, the actress’ rep confirmed the news to Us Weekly. Then, father-to-be Dax Shepard got the chance to gush about the news during a visit to the “Tonight” show with Jay Leno. “It’s true,” Shepard said of the news. “My mom is probably the most excited. It’s an unhealthy thing — I don’t recommend it — but she has a Google alert on my name, so if I do anything, she finds out about it, basically.”

“Modern Family” actress Ariel Winter is looking to divorce her parents, according to the National Enquirer. What’s causing the rift between the 14-year-old actress and father and mother Glenn and Crystal Workman? Winter is reportedly furious over their demands that she stop seeing her 17-year-old boyfriend, actor Cameron Palatas. “Glenn and Crystal think Cameron is too old for their daughter, but Ariel wants a full adult romance with him — love, sex, everything. Johnny Depp is launching a new career as a bookseller, starting the publishing imprint Inifinitum Nihil under HarperCollins, according to E! News. And Depp is apparently taking his new job very, very seriously, if his statement is any indication: “I pledge, on behalf of Infinitum Nihil, that we will do our best to deliver publications worthy of peoples’ time, of peoples’ concern. Publications that might ordinarily never have breached the parapet,” Depp says. “For this dream realized, we would like to salute HarperCollins for their faith in us and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship together.” The company — which shares a name with Depp’s production company — will start off with two titles, a novel by folk singer Woodie Guthrie and a Bob Dylan biography by David Brinkley.

“Snow White and the Huntsman” director Rupert Sanders — who made a name for himself by having an affair with star Kristen Stewart earlier this year — has reportedly booked his first directing gig since the scandal, according to Deadline. Sanders is set to take on “the Juliet,” based on a science-fiction short story by Alfred Bester. Sanders is also allegedly in talks to direct a “Van Helsing” reboot starring Tom Cruise.

Some members of the Church of Scientology of bristling at the special treatment they believe Tom Cruise is receiving in the wake of his split from Katie Holmes, according to Radar Online. “They have bent the rules or Tom. If Tom was any other Scientologist — including lesser celebrities — he would not be allowed to continue seeing and maintaining communication with Katie or Suri,” former Celebrity Center president Nancy Many tells the Web site. “When every other person that I have known of leaves Scientology, which Katie did without speaking of it directly, they are instantly shunned.”

Shakira, who announced two weeks ago that she’s having a baby, has gone a step further and revealed she’s going to have a son. “Yes, it’s going to be a boy,” the singer announced  during an interview with German TV station RTL. “When the baby is born I want him to know he’s helping change the world,” the philanthropic pop star added. This will be the first child for Shakira and Spanish soccer star Gerard Pique.

The “Twilight” star is looking to unload the property because “he said there are too many memories,” a source says. But while he may be dropping the property, Pattinson isn’t necessarily through with Stewart, despite her infidelity. “Rob doesn’t hate her and he’s not mad,” the source says. “He just doesn’t get why she did it. He loves her and thinks about her constantly.”

While Katie Holmes will reportedly be getting $4.8 million in child support payments until Suri Cruise turns 18, the little girl herself stands to fare much better from her parents’ divorce, according to Radar Online, as Holmes reportedly insisted that Tom Cruise set up a trust fund for Suri as part of the settlement. “Katie wanted the trust fund put in place for Suri so that their daughter will be able to tap into after she turns 18,” a source says. “Katie has absolutely no access to the money and didn’t want to. While a planned second film was set to follow Stewart’s Snow White, studio Universal is now reconceiving the sequel as a spin-off focusing on Chris Hemsworth’s Huntsman. “The studio is currently exploring options to continue the franchise,” a Universal spokeswoman says. Sanders and Stewart made headlines when they acknowledged they’d been having an affair last month, though it’s unclear if that situation had anything to do with the studio’s decision.

Miley Cyrus has caught some flak for the drastic bleach-blond haircut she debuted on Twitter this week, but she’s not taking it seriously. In fact, she’s taken to tweeting inspiring affirmations. “Self love is the greatest of all flatterers,” she posted Monday, while the next day she followed up with “Energy flows where our intention goes. All of David Beckham’s professional bona fides didn’t matter when it came to challenging a referee at his son’s soccer match recently, as the heated exchange ended up with Beckham being forced to leave the field. “The kids are 7 years old and he sent the kid off,” Beckham tells Jonathan Ross during an interview, defending his actions. “I was like, ‘Come on, he’s 7, referee, you can’t send him off.’”

Given how much the “Twilight” franchise has changed his life, it’s no surprise Robert Pattinson tends to give a lot of thought to the vampire series — and the ramifications of its success. “Doing something like ‘Twilight’ opens doors and it closes others,” Pattinson tells the Herald Scotland. “You can say, ‘Oh if I was still unknown, then no one would judge me. But at the same time, nobody would give a s— either. It’s a weird little balance.”

In “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” the fourth in the series, newlyweds Edward (Robert Pattinson) and Bella (Kristen Stewart) finally go all the way. In preparation for the stripped-down honeymoon scene, Pattinson, 25, put in four months of solid work outs.

“Because I very rarely exercise and really don’t like going to the gym, I had to make it extreme,” he says. “I had to cut out beer and cut out junk food, which is basically my entire life, and I had to replace that with going to the gym and working out, basically all day, every day. I went to the gym pretty much at four in the morning and worked out for two hours and then went to work and then ran. It was absolutely exhausting.”

2. Greene gets dramatic

His co-star Ashley Greene, 24, who plays Edward’s sister Alice, also shows a new side in the movie, albeit a more emotional one. As the Cullens’ especially talented psychic, Alice is haunted by frightening premonitions.

“You will see Alice being emotionally tortured and a little tormented inside. She wants to protect and support Bella and the two emotions are in conflict. That was one of the great things of having a saga that gives you [time] to develop your character,” she says.

3. The birthing scene was horrific

In this installment —spoiler alert! — Bella becomes pregnant and the baby is half vampire. According to Pattinson and Greene, the birth scene was one of the most memorable during the movie shoot.

“The director Bill Condon made some really bloody horror movies early on in his career and we shot it like a straight horror scene,” says Pattinson. “I saw one cut, and if you had added some other music and other sound effects you wouldn’t want to watch the screen. They could definitely do a version of this movie for adults only.”

Greene remembers the day as one of the most hysterical.

“We were nervous and didn’t know how to pull this off. It was so intense. You can’t relate to a baby that is destroying its mother. It translates much better on film and it looks good, but when we were filming it nobody knew what was happening!”

4. Rob sings!

“I’m not making a record. … I record stuff all the time but have no intention to release it. People hate actors who release music so much that the majority of people would hate it just because it exists. It’s too personal for me to dirty it with people’s judgement.” - Pattinson, denying rumors that

Lindsay Lohan checked into jail Sunday night to serve her latest sentence — and checked out less than five hours later, according to The Associated Press. The troubled actress was sentenced to 30 days behind bars but managed to avoid spending even half a day in prison thanks to overcrowding in California’s corrections system. She will avoid serving an additional 270 days in jail if she performs 12 days of community service at the morgue and attends four psychotherapy sessions before Dec.14.

Jennifer Aniston’s new home

Jennifer Aniston has found yet another place to call home in New York City after purchasing a $9 million apartment in Gramercy Park, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The three-bedroom, 2,873-square-foot space features a bedroom overlooking the park and includes amenities like housekeeping, room service and butler service, as well as membership to the nearby DavidBartonGym. This is the third multimillion-dollar NYC property Aniston has snapped up this year.

More Robert Pattinson wedding crap

Filming a pivotal wedding scene for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1” may have made star Robert Pattinson a bit cynical about weddings in general — especially for the groom, who “is just a prop,” Pattinson says, according to People magazine. “I mean, it’s such a clear indication whose day it is when you’re standing on one end of the aisle and the entire congregation is facing the other way, and you’re in the same suit as every other guy.”

While promoting “Breaking Dawn: Part 1” at a press conference over the weekend, Pattinson speculated that he and co-star/girlfriend Kristen Stewart may already be married. “The wedding scene’s funny because we used a real priest,” said the actor, according to UsMagazine.com. “So technically we are already married because he did all the things you would do in a normal ceremony. So we don’t have a civil union in law, but I guess in the church we are actually married.”

We suspect the church wouldn’t agree, but then again, it’s not really our go-to marriage dictionary these days. If someone united Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt in holy-hell matrimony, no doubt they’d sign off on this one. 

Halloween weekend with Drew

Cops were called to Drew Barrymore’s place in Hollywood Hills over the weekend because her Halloween party got too loud, according to TMZ’s sources. Absolutely nothing of note — they showed up around midnight and she promised to quiet down. It might, however, be the only time she surfaces in gossip columns until 2013, and we wanted to put it out there: We love Drew Barrymore, and want in on her rowdy Halloween parties.

Cops called to Nicki’s

In less adorable calling-the-cops news, police were summoned to Nicki Minaj’s place this weekend when the singer got in an argument with a housekeeper, according to TMZ. Minaj had previously fired a maid who worked at her home, then grew upset when the woman returned to work Friday. When the maid said she wouldn’t be “treated like an animal,” Minaj reportedly flipped out, shouting, “I’ll show you how to treat someone like an animal. Get the f— out of my house.”

Best part here? It wasn’t the same employee she had fired. This, Nicki, is exactly what the term “epic fail” was invented for.

These photos of the star sporting various beards and goatees over the weekend are the photographic equivalent of putting ketchup on a fine cut of filet mignon: Why ruin such perfection?

On Saturday, the  star was snapped with a full beard and, might I say, horrific sunglasses (was he going for the “chubby John Lennon” look?) at the Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, where he met up with “Twilight” co-star Ashley Greene. The two are  in town to do promotion for the latest tween blood-sucking installment of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1.”

Luckily, on Sunday night he cleaned up for the red carpet for the film’s Paris premiere by shaving his beard down to a goatee (he also donned a sleek Dolce and Gabbana suit, which helped). That goatee, we ladies can live with. But if you go full-on Brad Pitt/Mark Twain goatee, we’re going to have to talk, Robert.

Winslet: First bra, then granny

For Kate Winslet, first goes the bra, then goes the old people. It seems that in an emergency, the actress’ first instinct is to cover up (she is British, after all).Winslet revealed that when she awoke on Richard Branson’s private island to find the house on fire in August, she thought, “‘Now what do I do?’ So I ran into the bedroom and put on a bra,” she says in an interview with talk-show host Graham Norton. “In disastrous moments like that, you do the strangest things. I started to put on a bra and thought, ‘No, that’s going to take me too long,’ so off came the bra, on came the T-shirt, then I grabbed the children and I picked up granny.” Winslet is credited for carrying Branson’s 90-year-old mother, Eve, to safety as the compound was destroyed by the blaze.

The 40-year-old climbed the reality TV show ladder, starting with “The Apprentice: Martha Stewart” in  2005, and then was cast on “The Real Housewives of New York City” in 2008 even though, as a struggling single chef, she didn’t really fit the “rich housewife” profile. From “RHONYC,” her star — and brand — rose. And this year, she was able to sell her Skinnygirl Margarita cocktail mix for a whopping $120 million dollars.

Thanks to that huge sale, she’s one of the top female earners in the entertainment world, according to Forbes.com. They list her at No. 3 with a worth of $55 million (between May 2010 to May 2011). Oprah Winfrey remained No. 1 on with  $290 million in earnings; Lady Gaga came in second with $90 million. Forbes notes that Frankel is trying to expand her brand with food, supplements and a possible talk show. Gisele Bundchen, Taylor Swift, Ellen DeGeneres and Judge Judy Sheindlin each earned $45 million last year and tied for fourth place.

Maybe, in the end, reality TV does pay?

Pattinson tops Glamour’s sexiest list

It looks like Glamour readers are huge “Twilight” fans. Robert Pattinson topped the mag’s list of the world’s sexiest men, with his “Twilight” co-star Taylor Lautner coming in second. “Over 40,000 Glamour readers cast their votes in the most hotly contested list of the year,” says editor Jo Elvin.
“And while the ‘Twilight’ saga men continue to dominate our Sexiest Men list, Glamour readers have shown they have eclectic tastes to say the least — from silver fox, 50-year-old George Clooney, to a barely legal Justin Bieber.” Also on this list: Bradley Cooper, Gerard Butler, Alex Pettyfer and Ryan Reynolds.

Robert Pattinson seems to share our discomfort, and was hoping to lighten up the honeymoon scene in the upcoming “Breaking Dawn.” “I wanted to have it as a line so much: ‘I bit through all the pillows. Every. Single. One.’ And then he’d start crying,” the actor tells Entertainment Weekly. “By the way, that’s what he should be ashamed of in the morning. All those beautiful pillows! Egyptian cotton! I ruined this bed!”

Nice rewrites, Rob. If you need some edits, the Metro conference room — complete with very cheap, totally replaceable, don’t-even-worry-about-them Ikea chairs — is always open.

We love leaked lists of diva demands. Mostly, because it makes us feel like the low-maintenance, gracious people we so clearly aren’t, but it’s also nice to know that should gossip columnists start raking in the big bucks, it’s still cool to demand sorted Skittles.

Paula Abdul’s assistants, according to UsMagazine.com’s source, are required to: Tape all of her conversations, monitor TiVo for any mentions of her and remind her that she is a “warrior, survivor and gift.” A gift indeed.
