No mo’ Moss for Pats

In an early-morning shocker, the Patriots have reportedly traded
oft-disgruntled wide receiver Randy Moss to the Vikings in exchange for a
third-round draft pick.

The deal, first rumored late last night, was completed this morning, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The
33-year-old wideout raised plenty of New England eyebrows with his news
conference after the Pats’ Week 1 win over Cincinnati, when he said
that "from a business standpoint, this will be my last year with the Patriots."

Though he later backed off some of his comments, he didn’t even make it the whole year.

Moss returns to the team that drafted him 21st overall out of Marshall
in 1998. He played seven years for the Vikings, totaling 574 catches and 90 touchdowns.

Moss is 10th all-time (third among active players) with 935 career catches and second all-time (tops among active players) with 151 TD catches.

He
was impressive in his first three years with New England, catching 98,
69 and 83 balls and serving as the team’s top deep threat. But he’s
slumped this year, hauling in a total of nine passes — and none Monday
night.
