A snakebit starter
Is there a less lucky pitcher than Josh Beckett?
The guy just can’t stay healthy. It’s not his fault — he’s in shape.
It’s not major stuff, either — fitting on the day Adam Wainwright had
Tommy John surgery.
It’s just everything.
Beckett took a BP pop-up to the side of the head today, leaving him with symptoms of a mild concussion.
This follows previous DL stints for ailments like blisters (five between
2002 and 2005), oblique strains, back strains and elbow inflammation.
On one hand, the Red Sox should count themselves lucky he’s been able to make a good number of starts during his time in Boston.
On the other, Beckett’s run of bad luck is simply uncanny.
